1 The Tama County Conservation Board met in regular session on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in the library, Tama County Nature Center, Otter Creek Park. Chairman Keenan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.. Members present were: Adolphs, Atchison, Graff, Keenan, and Wrage. Also present: Etzel and Wise. Greet new Conservation Board member Ellen Graff, Tama, was welcomed as a newly appointed member of the Conservation Board. Graff will be filling the position formerly held by Lana McCool, Tama. Her term will be expire on December 31, Minutes from the regular session of December 11, 2013, were read. It was moved by Adolphs, seconded Atchison to accept the minutes as read, carried. The wetland monitoring report is filed annually for the wetland mitigation site located along the boundary of Parcels B & C- Hansen Addition. The report had been reviewed by Etzel and Lyle Brehm, County Engineer and Earthview Environmental was given permission to file the

4 report to the Army Corps of Engineers./ CCPOA Training Workshop Etzel reported that the Eastern Regional training workshop for CCPOA (County Conservation Peace Officer Association) will be held at the Tama County Nature Center on Thursday, March 13. Izaak Walton Shooting Facility- Property Transfer Agreement A Property Transfer Agreement was presented to the Conservation Board. The document, which had been drafted by representatives of the Izaak Walton League of America, Inc., addressed conditions which had to be met before the property could be transferred to Tama County, IA. The document had been forwarded to Steve Kenkel, Attorney for the Conservation Board, for his review. Kenkel did not see any major problems with the document. After discussion it was moved by Adolphs, seconded Atchison to accept the property transfer agreement as presented, carried. (All voting aye) FY 15 Budget Proposal The Conservation Board considered suggestions regarding a FY 15 budget to present to the Tama County Board of Supervisors. A lengthy presentation and discussion of needs of the Board followed. The Conservation Board members were in agreement that the addition of a full time staff person was sorely needed and should be included in any budget request. After considerable discussion it was moved by Wrage, seconded Adolphs to present the following FY 15 budget which includes the addition of one full time staff for the Supervisor s consideration, carried. After short discussion it was moved by Wrage, seconded Adolphs that $10,000 be held back pending 100% completion of the project, carried. (all voting aye) Staff discovered the furnace in the boat storage building had caught fire. Luckily the building was not affected. A new furnace is needed. The Board considered quotes presented as follows:
