Nothing TRUMPS Independence, something to ponder on. We had a great luncheon last month with our sponsor CED. Also, special thanks to Jeff Sharkey for attending and updating us on what is going on in Tallahassee. We thank Michael Poggiali and Gexpro in advance for sponsoring this month s lunch meeting at Quality Inn. Gexpro s staff is planning on updating us on their Solar capabilities. Also, JMEA is presenting a 1 hour CEU class in Electrical Laws and Rules immediately following our July membership meeting. This course is sponsored by the International Association of Electrical Inspectors as a make up course to those who attended the IAEI State Chapter Meeting in May and were not accepted by the State Board. The offer is free to all JMEA and IAEI members, and is a requirement to renew your Florida State Electrical Contractors License. I ll see you at our luncheon on the 20 th. 2 Upcoming Events 5th Annual Fun Shoot on September Jacksonville Clay Target Sports Watchdog Committee Request The Watchdog Committee has not been busy, seems that this type of illegal activity has slowed down immensely. I can only attribute this trend to the fact that most electrical workers are back to work. This is a good thing, when the economy is better, so is the crime rate. Still we must be diligent, so if you see any unlicensed activity going on, please feel free to call me or me with the info, with pictures if possible. President Chuck Stowe introduced and thanked David Crummey and CED. Motioned was made, second and carried out to approve the minutes of March 16, 2016 as distributed. REPORT OF COMMITTEES: ENTERTAINMENT: Chuck Stowe reminded members about our upcoming Fun Shoot at Jacksonville Clay Target Sports on Friday, September 29 th. MEMBERSHIP: Chuck Stowe provided information on new member applications for Shawn Heath, Jaron DeBerry, and Steve Glover. A motioned was made, second and carried out to approve. NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Jeff Sharkey with Capitol Alliance Group gave a Legislative update. OLD BUSINESS: Raymond Smith gave an update on the IAEI conference, and advised they will be rescheduling the 1 hour CEU class on Rules and Laws that was initially given at the conference in May. Additional information to come. FINANCIAL REPORT ~Alex Limbaugh Alex Limbaugh reported that all bills have been paid and that the Association is solvent.
