1 How to Interpret Building Permit Processing Status Building and Development Services Department 1112 Manatee Ave West, Suite 408 Bradenton, FL Phone: (941) You can follow your permit through the Manatee County Building Department process in your Online Services account. Once you have located the permit in your account, click on Record Info: Click on Processing Status: When the application is submitted the Processing Status will show where the application is in the process.

2 Clicking on the arrow next to Application Acceptance will show the status of the acceptance process. During the acceptance process, status options are as follows: Status Marked as: Online Services View Status Description TBD Application has been submitted and is waiting Permitting Tech Review. Pending Approval Application is pending approval due to????? Application Approved Application has been approved and Review process will begin. Once the Application has been accepted, Processing Status will show the review areas that have been assigned to the permit application. Assigned reviews show the hour glass indicating in process. Reviews assigned, nothing has been completed. Some reviews have been completed. All reviews completed, Permit is ready for verification. As reviews are completed, Processing Status will be updated. Completed review will show a green check mark. 2

Reviewer has posted note for Applicant. Review is not complete. Review is complete. Reviewer has posted comments for Applicant. Reviewer has approved review. Reviewer needs additional information or another addition to the submitted plans. When the additional information or item is ready, please upload it to your account, and select the document type: Request Revisions and check the Virtual Folder for the appropriate Requested info (Bldg, Elec, Mech or Plbg). Only ONE box should be checked when selecting Virtual Folders. Once all reviews are complete, the permit moves on to the Plans Verification Process, where the Permit Techs verify all the requirements and documents are complete. It is during this stage all the fees applied to the permit must be paid to allow the permit to be issued. Processing status options at Plans Verification: 3

4 Status Marked as: How to Interpret Building Permit Processing Status Online Services View Status Description On Hold Permit is on hold due to??? Validation in Review Verification is in process. Ready to Issue Permit has been verified and is ready to issue, but has not been issued yet. Once the permit has been verified and is Ready to Issue, it goes to the Permit Issuance stage. The permit may be immediately issued. But, it could also be held up in this stage awaiting: Balance of fee payment What things would cause the permit stopped from issuance at this point? Status Marked as: Online Services View Status Description 4

5 Pending Issuance Permit to be in Pending Issuance??? Issued The Permit has been issued. Once the permit has been issued, you can print the permit from your account. To locate the Permit, go to Record Info and click on Attachments. All the documents related to the permit will be listed. 5

6 Locate the Permit with Inspection Card document, click Actions and download the permit for printing. Process Status will now show Permit Issuance complete and Inspections in process. You can follow inspections through the inspections section of Record info. Scheduled inspection will be listed in the inspections section. 6

7 When inspections are resulted, the results and any notes from the inspector will also show in the inspection area. 7

8 When the final inspection is approved, inspections are complete and the process moves to the Closure stage. 8

Certificate of Occupancy is ready to issue, as soon as final requirements or payments are complete. Application for Permit extension has been approved. Permit Extension Approved Issue Temporary Certificate of Occupancy Issue Certificate of Completion Application for Permit extension has been denied. Temporary Certificate of Occupancy has been issued. Certificate of Occupancy has been issued. Issue Certificate of Occupancy Certificate of Completion has been issued. 9
