The Super Bowl party was a big success. Breakfast will be added to the menu. Booth seating upholstery will be redone. There will be security by an outside company and a new sign for the front entrance. They are striving to make things better and would like for the Board to review their late hours. (Per their lease, the BOD reserves the right to review the 12 am - 2 am hours every 3 months.) BOD Meeting: Call meeting to order- President Nancy Absher Pledge of Allegiance- President Nancy Absher Opening Prayer- Operations Manager Jimmy Wells Roll Call President Nancy Absher- Howard, Belinda, John, Jesse, Rudy, Nancy Richard Childers resigned as Secretary in January. It is a loss for the Board and he will be missed. Motion to accept and suspend the reading of the BOD Meeting Minutes from January 12, Motion- Belinda Adams 2nd- Rudy Head Motion to read the ES Meeting Minutes from January 12, 2019 out loud to the community. Motion- Belinda Adams 2nd- None Motion failed. Motion to accept and suspend the reading of the ES Meeting Minutes from January 12, Motion- John Sciadini 2nd- Howard Kimbrell ( Some discussion as to which minutes. Richard Childers resigned and left before the meeting was adjourned. The previous Secretary s minutes were approved.) Motion to accept the December 2018 Financials - Tabled ( was sent to BOD without attachment).
2 Maintenance Report Jimmy Wells: Swimming pool maintained. Extensive Boardwalk repairs made. Repaired water leaks on Cardinal Dr., Clubhouse Dr., and Humming Cir. Cleaned the Bluebird Dr. property. Water notification hand delivered to each property. (NC requirement). Repaired ceiling tiles in the Office bathroom. Flag pole and sign lights installed at Resort entrance. Flooring threshold repaired in the Office. Gravel placed at the entrance to the burn pile. Area around the dumpster was cleaned. Steps rebuilt at Overlook. Stop sign repaired at Cardinal Dr. North. Security vehicle repaired. Water flushing preformed. Boat ramp was cleaned. Water samples were taken throughout the Resort for Bac-T test. Bookshelves installed in the Gym and lights repaired. Flushing Valves were installed on Finch Cir. and Sparrow Ln. New setter boxes installed on Hilltop Dr. and Sparrow Ln. Mailbox locks were repaired. New thermostat installed in the men s room at the Bathhouse. Countertop in the Office replaced with Formica. Leaf pick up done throughout the Resort. Clubhouse bathroom, Bathhouses, and Gym were cleaned New signs installed at Overflow Parking. The fence was moved and pine needles and bushes placed at the Beach entrance. IT work done in the office for new upgraded computers. New Phase 4 water loop was installed. 2
3 Things to Mention: LED light savings should recoup the cost by the end of the summer. Example below from 1 or 4 power bills: *Cost of LED Lights: $8, Rebate: $3, *June 2018 Power Bill: $1, December 2018 Power Bill: $1, Package tracking system was purchased. Mailbox rental increased to $30.00 a year charged to homeowner s accounts in April (2nd quarter). $25.00 key deposit required for any new mailbox rented. Refundable upon termination of rental and return of the key. Thank you BSR volunteers! Clean Sweep- March 30th, am - 3 pm Heron Bay and Uwharrie Point will partner with Cube Hydro in an effort to clean up Badin Lake. Volunteers are needed! Committees- All committees for 2019 were approved. The Elections Committee was approved prior. Motion to extend Big Cats hours from 12am to 2am Friday and Saturday to begin February 15, 2019 Motion- John Sciadini 2nd- Jesse Crocker (Brad gave more information on the improvements Big Cats is making.) Old Business Jimmy is researching tax records and investigating how to proceed with the Bluebird Lane property. Ceiling tiles need to be replaced and the dance floor needs to be refinished in the Clubhouse. Day Docks- 2 bids have been received to replace with floating docks. Both are over $110, Richard Childers addressed the community. He apologized for resigning and not fulfilling his term. He will still be active in the park. Mike Bales asked if a meeting was conducted without an Executive Committee and what is being done to fill the open Board position. *Per the Procedural Manual the open Board position has to be posted on the Badin Shores website and on the marquee. The Office will take letter of interest for 30 days following the announcement. The Board has 15 days to interview potential applicants. The Board will then vote and appoint the position. * The policy letter was read aloud. Discussion as to the proper announcement of the Board. Facebook is not listed as approved announcement means. 3
4 Committees Events- Partnered with Big Cats for the Super Bowl Party. Big success. Murder Mystery Dinner tonight (2-9-19). 128 tickets were sold. St. Patrick s Day chili cook off March 16 at the Clubhouse 6 pm. Kids Valentines party February 16 at Clubhouse 2-4pm. Chapel - Cooke Family Concert February 23, 2019 in the Clubhouse. Dinner served at 6pm and concert at 7pm. Vacation Bible School Kick off is June 30, 2019 at the Pool Pavilion. Water/Sewer - New loop is finished. Paperwork has been turned over to the State for approval. New loop will help with circulation to keep test in the positive. Once the project is totally complete they will meet to discuss the next major project. Security BOD and Operations Manager met with Security Manager, James Goins. We still have some of the same issues. The contract with Allied Security is for 2 more years. Dance Club Re Up to join is in March. $20.00 per person. UBU band will be playing. Dancing is not required. Only fun, friends and fellowship. Elections Ballots were mailed out February 7, Vote for 3 candidates or PROXY, not both. If you have not received your ballot within 2 weeks please contact the office. Volunteers are needed to count ballots on March 9,2019. Doors will open to the Clubhouse at 8:30am. Cost of postage is $ for 977 newsletters and ballots. Boardwalk Section replaced at the Coast Guard station. It had dropped 9 inches. Appeals 0 Appeals. Restaurant Restaurant Lessee, Brad Beck, was present. Playground - No Report. Pool : Met January 26th. New step ladders and deep end rail. Contractor has been contacted. Awaiting estimates on repairs. Kiddie pool will be repainted. 3,094 pool bands were ordered and 4,000 more to be ordered. Would like new lounge chairs. The capacity of the pool is 262. Beach: Drive complete. There is a problem with ants. Jimmy will check into treatment. Building Guidelines: Meeting March 2nd with new committee members. Boat Slip: Docks D and E will be redone. Finance: No Report. Long Range Planning Committee: Met Saturday night. Set purpose, roles, nominated co-chairs & secretary. Will meet again in April and have a report by the end of summer. Will be sending questionnaires out for info. Input is welcome. 4

You can either your completed form to office@badinshores.org, hand deliver, or mail your completed updated form to 1 Clubhouse Drive New London, NC No ballots can be accepted in the office or at the Annual Elections meeting on March 9th, All ballots must be mailed to 1000 Clubhouse Drive New London, NC Mail no later than March 6th, A preaddressed envelope was mailed along with the Election newsletter and ballots. Doors open to the Clubhouse at 8:30am for the Annual Election meeting. Coffee and refreshments will be served. Election results to be announced by 2 pm. All RVs must be inspected by the Park Manager prior to entering the park. If you or a guest plan to bring in an RV a building permit must be obtained through BSR office and approved by the Park Manager. If you are renting your lot long term you are required to have a valid lease on file. This can be obtained through BSR office and requires the owners signature, the renters signature, and signature of office personnel. All boats are subject to a $25.00 boat fee upon entering the park if the boat is not registered with the office. If you have purchased a new vessel for the summer please bring your NCWL registration into the office. There is no fee for registering your boats or jet skis. Barcodes are given to deeded owners only and a valid registration is required. No temporary registrations can be accepted. Each lot is allowed 4 barcodes. Your first two barcodes are free and any after are $10.00 a piece. Please visit badinshores.org for association information such as association documents, forms, calendar of events, ect. Please attend our monthly Board of Directors meetings which are held at the Clubhouse at 9 am the second Saturday of every month. Mailbox rental fees have been increased to $30.00 a year. This is charged to your homeowner account in April (2nd quarter) and can be paid when you pay your 2nd quarter dues. A $25.00 deposit is required for any new mailbox rentals. This deposit is refundable upon termination of the mailbox and return of the key. All ticket fines are $ as of January 1st, If you receive a ticket you can appeal on the date written 5 on the bottom of your ticket that will be mailed to you. If you do not appeal your ticket it is considered guilty/no show.
