We are busily preparing for our Spring Convention to be held on Wednesday, March 14 th at the First United Methodist Church in Lampasas, Texas. Make your plans now to attend our meeting and installation ceremony for our new Administration. Officers and Executive Committee will meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 th in the Hotel Conference Room at the Inn of Lampasas for their Executive Committee meeting. The hotel s address is: Inn at Lampasas, 1200 Central Texas Expressway, Lampasas, Tx. Dinner will follow the meeting at Giovanni s Restaurant, 801 South Key Avenue. We will meet in the lobby and carpool to the restaurant at 6:00 p.m. Other early arriving members are invited to attend but will need to inform ahead of time before we leave the hotel. Overnight hotel accommodations are to be made individually at the Inn of Lampasas, phone Ten double bed rooms have been reserved for TFWC Capitol District at a rate of $83.00 per room. This also includes a full breakfast the next morning. Be sure to inform the registration desk that you are with TFWC Capitol District and make your reservations early! Our meeting will be hosted by our Lampasas Pierian Club and The 36 Club. These ladies are going all out to make our meeting a huge success. Don t miss this meeting, it s going to be great AND awards will be given out that day. It will be a day to cheer for each club as they claim their awards. Our meeting will be at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall 1 at #2 Alexander Lampasas, Texas. 1 of 7 Pages
2 All District Chairmen, because of time constraints, please note that you will be given one minute to announce your awards. If for some reason you will be unable to attend, please see that a member of your club presents the report or send your information to Dayna Carpenter. At our Capitol District Fall Board meeting in Austin, a lovely picture of the Texas Governor s Mansion was presented to us and it was decided that this would be used as one of our fundraisers for The picture is autographed not only by the artist but also by Governor Rick Perry and his wife, Anita Perry. Our district purchased a KINDLE FIRE and a carrying case as our second fundraiser for Tickets can be purchased during our break times for: 1 ticket for $5.00 Or 3 tickets for $ How wonderful to see all the different featured articles of Capitol District in our Winter Issue of our Texas Clubwoman. Six times we were recognized. Congratulations are in order to The 36 Club for celebrating 75 years of excellence. Congratulations are in order to the Giddings Study Club for their very successful quilt raffle, and Congratulations to our new Federated Juniorette Club of Hillsboro. Attention was given twice to our San Gabriel Women s Club for Texas Outstanding Club Women Volunteer, Jean Holden, and TFWC Club Grant Winners receiving $350 for their Special Project, Georgetown Swims, and you received Christmas Greetings from your Executive Committee. Way to go, Capitol District! All Club Presidents please remember to contact all of your members reminding them to read the Capitol Chatter online at our website Remember to print copies and give to those who do not have access to our website. This is extremely important that everyone get the word out and it saves us money. Plan to attend the TFWC Annual Spring Convention in Beaumont, Texas on April 26-29, The GFWC International Convention will be held in Charlotte, NC June 14-17, Make your plans now to attend our Capitol District Summer Workshop on June 20, 2012 in Salado, Texas. More information will be distributed at Spring Convention in Lampasas. The South Central Region Conference will be held in Austin, Holiday Inn Town Lake, on October 19-21, Bonnie Haynes has reported a new address and can be contacted at bandghaynes@rocketmail.com Bonnie s was compromised and as a result a SCAM was sent to everyone on her list. We do not know for sure who received the SCAM, if you did, DO NOT REPLY!! DELETE!! Excitement runs high as we prepare for our Spring Convention in Lampasas and the installation of our new Administration. Your new Executive Committee is prepared and ready to assume their duties and they will be great! It has been my utmost privilege to work with these very capable and committed women during my administration. They have been absolutely wonderful and I will cherish their friendship forever.
