Scott, Membership Services Administrator, Austin, Texas, International DKG Headquarters. Nita brought greetings from Headquarters. She spoke to us about our vision for this new year Leading with Educators impacting Education Worldwide. She reminded us to log into the new improved website using the first 6 digits for our member ID. Password: default. General Fund Permanent Fund Annie Webb Blanton Rotating Scholarship Martha Schulz Scholarship Expenditure Report Chapter Treasurer s Reports See attached Treasurer s Report F. New Treasurer for next Biennium: Heidi Hull, Omicron Chapter Heidi was introduced and appointed to office. G. Finance Committee, Linda Getschman (Nu Chapter) We seem to be spending more money that we are taking in. It would really be helpful if we could add at least one new member per chapter. H. Communication, Cindy Frazer (Gamma Chapter) Nevada DKG State Webmaster and NVgram Editor. Number of Communication Awards being presented: Cindy Frazer was absent; Maxine spoke to all of her hard work these past years as both webmaster and NVgram editor. Cindy is resigning from her committee chair position and we will need to replace her. We were reminded that Alphi Chi is not a chapter but our state name. The following awards will be presented at the luncheon: Outstanding: 4 newsletters/communications PLUS website Epsilon, Gamma, Kappa, Nu, Omicron, Xi Total 5 Chapters Honorable Mention: 4 newsletters/communications OR website Alpha, Delta, Theta Total 4 Chapters No award Beta, Lambda Total 2 Chapters I. NevadaGram Editor: Cindy Frazer has stepped down as the NevadaGram Editor. We are currently
3 3 searching for an editor. J. Leadership, Susan Kramer, Alpha Chapter President. Consultant: Carol Mueller (Theta Chapter) Past International President Leadership Workshop Report: Time, Date: Place: Susan addressed the different options available to the state membership addressing the 2017 Leadership Retreat and the State Board Meeting. After much discussion, the following two motions were passed: Susan Kramer moved that we reinstate the Go to Meeting for our Board meeting. It was seconded by Gwen Anne Thacker. The motion was passed. It was moved by Gwen Anne Thacker that we hold Leadership in 2018 and then biannually for new chapters thereafter. Motion was passed. K. Nominating Committee: Gwen Anne Thacker (Kappa), Outlying Nevada Representative, Past State President; Karin Randle (Nu), Northern Nevada Representative, Past State President; Zelma Cooper (Epsilon), Southern Nevada Representative. Report on progress of slate of officers for Nevada DKG. Gwen Anne presented the following slate of officers: Slate of State Officers: President, Susan Capistrant, Theta 1 st Vice-President, Cheryl Anderson, Delta 2 nd Vice-President, Karen Lakowski, Gamma Secretary Nancy Fitzgerald, Lambda Treasurer: Heidi Hull, Omicron Parliamentarian: Minnis Alderman, Beta State Editor, NevadaGram: Kami Hamilton, Kappa Chapter, has agreed to take this job! State Webmaster: Cindy Frazer, Gamma Jacita Young moved that we accept the slate of officers as presented by the Nominating Committee; it was seconded by Pat Geoppinger. The motion was passed. We will also need a slate for a new nominating committee which will be brought up at the General Assembly. Elected at this time for next two year term: Pat Goeppinger South
4 4 Juanita Karr East (outlying) Susan Kramer - West SOCIETY, MISSION AND PURPOSES A. Nevada DKG Historian, Claudia Small (Nu Chapter) We will need a new historian due to Claudia s illness. B. Educational Excellence, Ilene Wagner (Gamma Chapter), Past International Committee Educational Excellence. Gamma Chapter report on Ilene Wagner. Pat Geoppinger reported that Illene was doing well at this time. C. Gold Key Awards, Ilene Wagner (Gamma Chapter), Cindi Supko, State Secretary will be presenting the Gold Key Awards at the Luncheon. Gold Key Awards presented to: Gamma, Theta, Kappa, Nu, Omicron Gold Key Honor Awards presented to: Delta and Xi D. Alpha Chi Member Awards, Pat Geoppinger, Gamma Chapter President Pat told us the all was ready to go for the following presentations at the banquet: Rose of Recognition: Alpha Chapter, Eva Wick-Lerud Gamma Chapter, Cynthia Frazer Epsilon Chapter, Penny Thompson Kappa Chapter, Nu, Jessica Daniels Omicron, Nita Cecelia & Jacklyn Riggan Beta-None Delta, Nancy Stiles Theta Chapter, Lori Johnson Lambda Chapter, Marlene Casazza Xi, Marilyn Howard The Exemplary Award will be presented to Minnis Aldermann, Beta Chapter. E. Martha Schulz Doctoral Scholarship, Karin Randle (Nu Chapter), NV DKG Past State President. Karin was not present to give report. Marlene spoke to us about the scholarship. It was suggested that Susan Capistrant, who is currently working on her doctorate, apply for this scholarship

State Scholarship (Annie Webb Blanton Scholarship), Recipient: Karen Laskowski, Gamma Chapter Marlene Killion, Omicron Chapter, Past State President addressed Marlene explained that Karen will be our first recipient to receive this award under the new rules. She reminded us that we will be rotating this award by region, not chapter. Nita Scott also informed us that there was International Scholarship money available from headquarters: Master s - $6,000 and Doctorate - $10,000. Information is available on the website. G. World Fellowship, Ardynne Sprinkle,Theta Chapter Ardynne was not present to present report. It was mentioned that NU Chapter has collected over $200 for World Fellowship. We were reminded that all chapters should be contributing. At the present time, all chapters are contributing. H. Arts and Humanities Jury NV Representative, Ardynne Sprinkle,Theta Chapter. Ardynne was not present to present report. OLD BUSINESS: The State Executive Board will receive $140 this year for attending State meetings. The Executive Board includes First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian for a total of $700. The State President has $1700 budgeted for expenses as President. There will be no reimbursements for International or Regional expenses. There will also be no reimbursement for First Timers to International or Regional Expenses. Please have receipts ready for Betsy. Report on NV DKG State Convention, Kappa Chapter. President s Report turned into International. Maxine did turn in with information forwarded by chapters. Copy of report available to the Chapter Presidents. Thank you to the Chapters for their support in these matters.

Maxine will pass a sheet out to see if committee chairs would like to continue in their present positions, if not, new chairmen will be recruited.
