1 113 th REORGANIZATION MEETING OF THE MAYOR & COUNCIL BOROUGH OF WESTWOOD, NEW JERSEY COMMUNITY CENTER 55 JEFFERSON AVENUE JANUARY 2, CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Wanner called the 113th Reorganization Meeting of the Mayor and Council to order at 7:15 PM and read the Open Public Meetings Law Statement: This meeting which conforms with the OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS LAW, CHAPTER 231, PUBLIC LAWS OF 1975, is a regular Borough Council meeting. Notices have been filed with our local official newspapers and posted on the Municipal Bulletin Board. 2. FLAG SALUTE AND INVOCATION: Councilmember Oelkers led those present in the invocation. Mayor Wanner led the salute to the flag. The colors were presented by the Westwood Police Reserves. 3. PRESENTATION TO OUTGOING COUNCILMEMBER Mayor Wanner presented a plaque to outgoing Councilmember Oelkers in recognition of his more than twenty years of dedicated service as a councilmember. Mr. Oelkers thanked the Governing Body and his supporters throughout the years. 4. COUNCILMEMBERS - ELECT: William Phayre was administered his Oath of Office as Member of the Council for a three year term by Judge Karch, Term expiring 12/31/09. ORDINANCE FOR INTRODUCTION: Ordinance #07-01 Establishment of Vehicle Maintenance Department This ordinance was held for further discussion. 11. PUBLIC FORUM: Motion to open the Public Forum: Council President Sciara Second: Councilmember Phayre Public Comments: Mr. William Brenner, Harrington Avenue, Westwood Mr. Brenner congratulated the Governing Body and Councilmember Conkling in particular for his foresight in placing the old community bulletin board at the DPW site. Mr. Conkling stated that he did not direct that installation. Motion to close the Public Forum: Council President Sciara Second: Councilmember Conkling 12. BUDGET MEETINGS: Mayor Wanner announced that a schedule of Budget Meetings will soon be published in the official Borough newspaper and posted on the Municipal Bulletin Board. 13. CONSENT AGENDA Mayor Wanner announced that the Resolutions listed on the Consent Agenda would be enacted with one motion. Copies of all Resolutions are available to any person upon request. Any Councilmember wishing to remove any Resolution(s) to be voted upon may do so at this time and said Resolution(s) will be moved and voted upon separately. Council President Sciara tendered the motion that Consent Agenda Resolutions 07-6 through be approved and adopted forthwith. Councilmember Frasco seconded the motion. Voice Vote: All affirmative. 3

PRESENTATION OF AWARDS Presentation To Employee: Councilmember Frasco presented a plaque to Alice Porcello in recognition of her 33 years as a Borough employee. Ms. Porcello stated how much she had enjoyed her time with the Borough and thanked the Governing Body and her co-workers. Volunteer Emergency Services Hall of Fame: Councilmember Phayre asked Fire Chief Domville to present a plaque to Edmund Keller, Westwood Fire Department in recognition of his outstanding service. Mr. Phayre then asked Ambulance Captain Stamatopoulos to present a plaque to Jennifer Hughes, Westwood Ambulance Corps in recognition of outstanding service. Each of these recipients was nominated by their peers for induction into the Volunteer Emergency Services Hall of Fame. 6
