3 3 January 7, 2014 Minutes 1. CALL TO ORDER In the absence of the Chair and Vice-chair, Lynn Iviney called the meeting to order at 5:56 p.m. Board members were asked to nominate or volunteer for role of chair at the meeting. Pam Corsiatto, Citizen Representative, volunteered for the role of Chair. Pam Corsiatto assumed the role of Chair. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Moved by Councillor Jean Bota, seconded by Councillor Richard Cloutier Resolved that the agenda for the January 7, 2014 meeting of the Red Deer & District Family & Community Support Services Board be approved as circulated. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Moved by Councillor Richard Lorenz, seconded by Councillor Jean Bota Resolved that the minutes of the December 12, 2013 Meeting of the Red Deer & District Family & Community Support Services Board be approved as amended: Item 2.2 The second bullet point should read: Councillor Richard Lorenz nominated Councillor Jean Bota as the Red Deer County representative An amendment to the resolution on page 4 should read: Councillor Jean Bota, Red Deer County Representative Item 9 the following is to be added at the end of this section: After the in camera session, the following motion was put forward: Moved by Councillor Judith Hogan, seconded by Councillor Jean Bota

4 4 January 7, 2014 Minutes Resolved that the Red Deer & District Family & Community Support Services Board, having considered the report from Social Planning dated December 3, 2013 re rescinding of Agency funding, hereby activates Section 9.03 of the Red Deer & District Family and Community Support Services Funding Agreement, and provides notification to the Central Alberta Refugee Effort Committee that funding is being rescinded as of February 28, 2014, for the Central Alberta Refugee Effort Committee: Immigrant Seniors Program Men s Group, as the project is noncompliant. The Red Deer & District Family & Community Support Services Board will develop a strategy to reallocate this funding into the community. Councillor Kathy Sitter, Councillor Richard Cloutier, Councillor Judith Hogan, Councillor Jean Bota, Councillor Richard Lorenz, Pam Corsiatto, 4. INFORMATION ITEMS 4.1 Delburne s 1000 Conservations Project Karen Fegan provided background information on the 1000 Conversations Campaign, and invited board members to an event in Delburne on January 17 th, 2014 from 9:00 3:30 to start the process of gathering conversations. She also provided information on the Tamarack Institute based in Edmonton. 5. WORKSHOP 5.1 FCSS Mandate, Funding Model & Resource Allocation Linda Boyd led a workshop on the Resource Allocation Funding process, and walked Board members through the program documents provided to them that will be used in the Resources Allocation Phase of the FCSS Funding Model. Funding available is $1,930,000 per year of each of three years 2015, 2016 and 2017.

5 5 January 7, 2014 Minutes Board members also received a copy of the dates for meetings and timelines for the Resource Allocation Stage. 6. NEXT MEETING The next meeting of the Red Deer & District Family & Community Support Services Board is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 5:30 p.m., Wapiti Room, 2 nd floor, City Hall. 7.
