With your continuing support, we look forward to a happy, busy and fun filled year. I would like to thank most sincerely our Immediate Past President, Michael Tse for his hard work and dedication. It is my great pleasure to have worked with him as his Vice President over the last two terms. We welcome Anthony Tung to the Committee. He is also our Website Administrator. He spends a lot of efforts and time to set up and update our new website You will find all the information about our Club at this website. The Land Sale Information Session on 7 August was well attended. A Special General Meeting is being organised to be held in October for members to vote on the motion that our land in Philip Island is to be sold or not. Details will be forthcoming. Our Club is a social club, our members' welfare and benefits are our utmost priority. We plan to organise more enjoyable and fun activities. We hope to see you and your family and friends at all our functions. Your new ideas and contributions are most welcome. Please come and join us in a special afternoon tea on Sunday 11 September to 慶祝中秋節 with varieties of moon cakes and 猜燈迷等遊戲 at the Forest Hill Horticultural Centre, 82 Jolimont Road, Forest Hill from 3.30 pm. 2 This year our annual Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday 29 October at the Manningham Function Centre, Bulleen. The theme is "A Touch of Gold" and we are very fortunate that Mr Fred Cheah and his Band will be playing for us. Please book early for this event. We would love to see you all at our regular gatherings, our monthly dinners on the first Monday of each month (7.15 pm for 7.30 pm) at the Wealth Garden Chinese Restaurant in Doncaster East, and our get together on the second Sunday of each month (from 3.30 pm) at the Forest Hill Horticultural Centre. Special activities will be notified to you in our newsletters and on our website. Hope to see you all soon. Cheers. Website Please note this newsletter and other Club news and information can be accessed at the club website Upcoming Events v 2 nd Sunday of each month gathering from 3:30pm to 6:00pm Please come and join us at our regular gathering on the second Sunday of each month at the Forest Hill Horticultural Centre 82 Jolimont Rd., Forest Hill. Usually starts from 3:30pm to 6:00pm, unless otherwise notified. As well as the various activities, light refreshments, tea and coffee are provided free to members and friends. But you are welcome to bring a plate. The activities planned may include singing karaoke style and Tai Chi practices. Please check our website for details. o 11 September 2016 Sunday gathering to celebrate the Mid- Autumn Festival 慶祝中秋節 As the Mid-Autumn Festival is only days away, let s celebrate by getting together and enjoying some yummy moon cakes; and play a few games of riddles 猜燈迷等遊戲. Moon cakes, tea, coffee and soft drinks are provided but you are welcome to bring a plate of your favourite snacks. Many members provided some constructive feedback. The committee is now finalizing the proposal and is organizing a Special General Meeting to be held in October for Members to vote on the Resolution. Documentation for the SGM will be sent out soon. It is recommended that Members should read the document and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum thoroughly before deciding on the vote. Passing the Resolution can free up a sleeping asset to enable the Club to do a lot more to rejuvenate and to go forward.
