If a large number wish to speak on a specific item, the Board may limit total input to twenty-five minutes on any item. 5.0 CORRESPONDENCE XXX XXXX 5.1 Trustee Certificate of Recognition A certificate of recognition and appreciation will be awarded to Norris Board members Jim Bowles for 30 years of service and to Sue Dodgin for 25 years of service. 5.2 Kern County Superintendent of Schools Review of Norris School District s Adopted Budget The Norris School District received its annual letter from the County Superintendent of Schools that Norris School District can meet its financial obligations based upon Adopted Budget. 6.0 REPORTS FROM SUPERINTENDENT & STAFF XXX XXXX 6.1 Enrollment Current District enrollment is 4,172, which is an increase of 9 compared to last month s enrollment. 6.2 Special Education Program Final Bill Back from Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office Trustees will review the Final Special Education Program bill back received from the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office. 6.3 District Special Education Department Report Administrator of Student Services, Russellyn Sullivan, will report on District Special Education Department.

3 7.0 NEW BUSINESS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX X 7.1 Approve Revisions to Board Policy , Parental Notifications Staff requests Board approve revisions to BP This policy outlines the District s responsibility to notify parents/guardians of their rights at the beginning of every academic year by regular mail, in electronic form when requested or by any other method normally used to communicate. All revisions have been denoted in bold italic. RECOMMENDATION: Approve revisions to BP , Parental Notifications. 7.2 Public Hearing: Settlement Agreement Between the CSEA Norris Chapter #824 and the Norris School District This is an item to allow the public opportunity to comment on any settlement agreement prior to Board ratification. The CSEA Chapter #824 employee group has previously ratified their agreement. Open public hearing for comments Close public hearing 7.3 Approval of AB-1200 Negotiated Collective Bargaining Agreement with the CSEA Norris Chapter #824 In accordance with AB-1200, the Board will disclose the total cost, as posted, of the classified contract for the school year. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the CSEA Chapter #824 Employee Bargaining Agreement. 7.4 Ratify the Negotiated Collective Bargaining Agreement, Pending County Approval, with the CSEA Norris Chapter #824 Staff requests the Board of Trustees to formally ratify the negotiated Collective Bargaining Agreement Contract between CSEA Chapter #824 and the Norris School District for the school year. RECOMMENDATION: Ratify the CSEA Chapter #824 Bargaining Agreement. 7.5 Accept Quitclaim Deed from Trustees of the Etcheverry Family Trust Dated June 14, 1990 This Certificate of Acceptance of Grant Deed is for a portion of school site #5, APN # and APN # RECOMMENDATION: Accept Quitclaim Deed from Etcheverry Family Trust for APN # & APN # Public Hearing: Adequate Textbooks/Instructional Materials and Approval of Resolution #17-02 Board will hear testimony from the public and/or staff regarding the sufficiency of textbooks and instructional materials consistent with state adopted frameworks. 6 10.2 Approval to Enter Into Open Session p.m OPEN SESSION XX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XX X 11.1 Board Decisions on Appeal of Denied Enrollments Trustees will announce in Open Session their decisions to appeals of denied enrollments Approve Compensation Changes for Unrepresented Certificated Employees Job Titles: Administrators, Principals, Directors, Deans, and School Psychologists The Board will discuss and possibly take action on absorbing the additional cost between the District contribution and the Employee contribution, a proposed 1% increase on the salary schedule, and a one-time, off-schedule payment of 3%.
