10 THIS ABOUT THE BILL THAT CAME BEFORE THE HOUSE IS GOING TO BE A JOINT BILL BETWEEN THIS SENATE AND THE GRADUATE SENATE 32 STATES ALLOW THEIR STUDENT TRUSTEES TO VOTE TRUSTEE KEEFE DOES NOT THINK THAT HE SHOULD INFLUENCE THE BILL SINCE IT DOES AFFECT HIS POSITION BUT DID GO OVER THE BILL AND THINKS THAT IT IS GREAT PRESIDENT BLIZZARD IF THIS BILL WAS TO PASS WANTS TO KNOW TRUSTEE KEEFE S VIEWPOINT OF THE BILL TRUSTEE KEEFE BELIEVES THAT HIS VIEWPOINT SHOULD MIMIC THAT OF THE STUDENT BODY SENATOR SHAH BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A VERY APPROPRIATE BILL TO HAVE DISCUSSION ON WHO WOULD BE WRITING THE BILL? ANSWER- WOULD MOST LILELY BE COMING FROM THE PRESIDENTS OF THE TWO SG AND TRUSTEES SENATOR GRIGGS THE BILL DOES GIVE THE CHOICE OF VOTING WRITES TO EACH UNIVERSITY SENATOR GEARHART WE SHOULD EXPRESS TO OUR BOARD THAT THIS IS IMPORTANT HAD AN EXTENSIVE CONVERSATION ABOUT THIS IN PAST MEETING AND MOTIONS TO CLOSE VP HYDE BELIEVES THAT WE ARE ELECTED TO REPRESENT BY THE STUDENT BODY AND BELIEVES THAT IF WE ARE GIVEN THIS OPPORTUNITY WE SHOULD SUPPORT SENATOR NAAB OBJECTED TO CLOSING DISCUSSION DUE TO THE TOPIC OF THE BILL BECAUSE WOULD LIKE TO SEE US CHANGE THE SUPPORT OF THE HOUSE BILL TO SUPPORT OF THE TOPIC ONLY RECEIVED 3 PAGES THAT PERTAINED TO THE TRUSTEE AND DOES NOT WANT TO SUPPORT THE REST OF THE LEGAL JARGON WE DO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT 82% HAVE STUDENT TRUSTEES WITH VOTING RIGHTS AND DOES COME WITH A LOT OF RESPONSIBILITY IS WORRIED THAT THIS COULD HURT A STUDENT LATER IN LIFE IN THEIR CAREER FOR MAKING AN UNINFORMED DECISION PRESIDENT BLIZZARD AS NAAB STATED THE BILL IS LARGER THAN THE 5 PAGES THAT WERE PRESENTED BUT THE REST OF THE PAGES ARE ESSENTIALLY REPEATED FOR EVERY OTHER PUBLIC UNIVERSITY SENATOR SHAH WAS GOING TO ADDRESS THAT PRESIDENT BLIZZARD AND TRUSTEE KEEFE HAVE READ THROUGH THE BILL THINKS THAT THIS IS THE NEXT STEP FROM THE PREVIOUS DISCUSSION WOULD URGE TO SUPPORT THE TOPIC AND BILL BECAUSE IT DOES SUPPORT ALL OTHER INSTITUTES MOTIONS TO CLOSE DISCUSSION SENATOR SYKES MOTIONS TO CALL TO QUESTION BILL PASSES
