14 SOMALIA Helping communities reuild Despite the ostcles, Somli is determined on growth nd recovery. More nd more refugees re opting to return. And through rnge of inititives, we re helping returning refugees nd existing communities re-mke Somli. We re reuilding the fisheries industry in the seside city of Kismyo, providing primry helthcre throughout the country, nd trining youth in voctionl skills tht will help them estlish strong foundtion to grow. And we re especilly excited out new housing project tht s unlike nything we ve done efore - uilding not shelters ut homes nd neighorhoods in Kismyo, c trnsforming dusty desert into plce returned refugees re proud to cll home. This yer, Somlis were fced with nother chllenge devstting drought nd the thret of fmine. We re one of the only interntionl orgniztions to respond. And, we ve een doing it with the help of some new prtners. We mke sure tht youth get the mentoring nd support they need, counsel victims of use nd trum, nd connect orphned children to fmily memers who cn cre for them. From helping women hel from use nd trum, to voctionl nd skills trining for udding entrepreneurs, to mking sure people get the helthcre ccess they need, ll our progrms hve n eye towrd successful trnsition. Most of our stff in Thilnd re refugees themselves they ll now tke the experiences they ve gined with them s they consider next steps for their future. As the sitution evolves nd shifts in Thilnd, so must our pproch. Right now, our tems re still working hrd to fight drug-resistnt mlri on oth sides of the Thi-Mynmr order. And we ll continue to work with these communities s their lives egin gin in Mynmr, nd s they fce different chllenges on the rod hed. And we prtnered with Rotry c Interntionl to lunch the first ever youth Rotry Clu in refugee cmp, helping refugee youth mke chnge in their communities nd connect to their peers round the world. c Bidi Bidi Prek On top of new wys to inspire hope nd resilience in Ugnd, we re doing the hrd work of helping people reuild, too. In Bidi Bidi, where hundreds of thousnds of South Sudnese refugees fled this pst yer, we re helping mothers nd children recover from use nd exploittion. Our wter system in Nkivle supplies clen wter to the entire settlement of 130,000 refugees. And our livelihoods progrms help people get ck on their feet gin. 34
