Acceptance of Board Agenda and Quorum Quorum was met and will be stated as such in the minutes. Approval of Minutes from September 22nd, 2012 Voting Item Motion was made to approve the minutes by Lisa Doll and seconded by Greg Donovan. Motion passed. Treasurer s Report Update Report made by Amanda Shively, ACTEAZ Treasurer. Mike McAfee made motion and Lisa Doll seconded to accept Treasurer s report. Executive Directors Report Quality Association Application turned in on time and we have been notified we will receive award. National ACTE Conference in Atlanta ( November 28 th -December 1 st ). Representatives for Delegate Assembly in Atlanta (Doris Wojtulewicz, Amanda Shively, Dennis Esparza). National ACTE Voting- be sure and vote. Leadership Workshop at National ACTE on Saturday, December 1 st ). National ACTE Membership. Taxes were filed by November 15 th Deadline and Officers reviewed. Taxes are also available at this meeting to review. Arizona SCITECH Festival Information E-Blast. Register for Mid-Winter Leadership Conference (February 7th-8 th ).

2 Ten plus Exhibitors at Mid-Winter. ACTE NPS (March 3 rd -6 th ). Job E-Blasts. ACTEAZ Awards Updates and Suggestion for Revision Voting Item Awards Due Date: January 31, 2013 Board came to consensus for this year that the deadline is January 31 st for awards. If some categories do not have nominations, rather than send the request out again, ACTEAZ Executive Committee can make recommendations and choose those recipients for those categories. The entire list of award winners will go out to the Board of Directors and then be announced. ACTEAZ Scholarships Scholarship Due Date: January 31, 2013 Reviewed deadline for scholarships to be submitted and agreed by consensus that this is the date this year. Status of Membership and List-Serv Shelly reviewed the status of the membership program and list-serv. ACTEAZ Premier Professional Development Series Update Mary Anne shared what session will be offered at the Mid-Winter Conference which is CTE Camp. ADE Report CTE Director of Operations will now be Dennis Fiscus. Hoop Group participation by invitation of Supt. Huppenthal to have dialogue with CTE Professionals Statewide. Pam Ferguson and Curt Bertelsen attended for ACTEAZ. Other Board Members also attending Lisa Doll, Greg Donovan and Dean Petersen. Some of the topics discussed are: Highly Qualified Teachers and credit for students for Community Colleges if class is not in their attendance zone. ACTEAZ Advocacy Report Listed under the J-TED Report. Report by Greg Donovan who is also listed as one of our ACTEAZ Lobbyists with the Secretary of State. Report on Board of Directors To Do List How to provide Fellows Leadership Opportunities. How to support State Outreach for their Members. Three exhibitors for Your Affiliates that we can ask to be part of the ACTEAZ Trade Show at Summer Conference. We talked about these goals at our meeting and the Board of Directors continues to work on these. Summer Conference Update Call for Presentations are open for members to submit. Shelly will be Meeting at ADE with Program Supervisors. Meeting for Affiliates if requested. Shelly will talk to them and offer assistance. We will ask Teacher Category Winners from last year if they would like to present. Theme for Conference 2013 Supporting Dreams-Creating Realities. A three tier marketing approach will be used featuring students from young ones to adults.

3 ACTEAZ Report on Strategic Plan Meeting with Superintendent Huppenthal This is in progress and more information forthcoming. Richard Condit is co-chairing the Committee with Supt. Huppenthal. John Mulcahy and Curt Bertelsen are also part of the Strategic Plan Committee Leadership. Suggested Strategic Plan Goals and Program of Work Updates Premier Professional Development Series (Mary Anne working on the development of this). Build Our Own Leaders (Stephen and Christine are working on this). Increase State Outreach for State Association and Affiliates (Doris is working on this). Improve Membership Experience (Shelly-working on making membership advantageous and richer for members). Reports by Affiliates and Special Group Representatives (Please make sure you have filled out form for Secretary to include in minutes) AATA (Reta Yanik) They just got back from National FFA and it was just wonderful. Many winners on the national level. ABEA (William Palmer) Had bowling team building activity on Nov. 3 and it turned out well. FBLA and HOSA teamed again this year and it was held at the Suns Arena and it was followed by an FBLA night at the Suns. FBLA is completing the third interaction of the Online Testing Extravaganza. Metro Tech has a team that placed in the top 8 teams in the FBLA Virtual Business Management Challenge and earned a place to compete at Nationals. ACOVA (Lisa Doll) Fall conference had record numbers and they are working on a professional development catalog with Mary Anne Berens. AME (Cheryl Shea) Reporting Renee Woodruff. DECA Fall Leadership and Advisors had great meeting also. District DECA competitions and online testing coming up. AME Professional Development Annual Conference in January and will be showcasing many industry leaders. ATIEA (Ross Rector) Winter Conference will be held and Board Meetings are being held around the state AZHCEA (Jeff Wooley) not present Business / Community Partnerships (Mike McAfee) They have over 240 dealerships working with CTE. Community College Occupational Administrators (Mike Crockett) There was an AOAC/AAAA meeting in Phoenix on October th. AOAC will meet again in Prescott in conjunction with ACTEAZ Conference. WIA data-verification audits disallowed CC Certification as evidence of program completion. AOAC may challenge this practice in a letter to Dept. of Labor and DES. Arizona Job Connection (formerly Arizona HEAT) will be requiring post-secondary providers to report employment and wage data for our completers. The 2011 data is to be reported in We have requested help from them for finding a process to capture this data. FACS Ed (Angela Stutz) Report made by Jennifer Cox and they had a successful conference in December. Fellowship Program (Christine Nelson) Steve Weltsch reported for Christine who was not present that they have been working on revisions for the Fellows Program to increase more opportunities. Financial Review (Dean Petersen) They are working on processes for additional review. Guidance & Counseling ASCA (Marilynn Babyar / Kay Schrieiber) Continuing to share information regarding CTE to all counselors in the state. Also working on Summer Conference.

4 Joint Technical Districts (Greg Donovan) Fowler Elementary voted to leave J-TED Working on owned and operated issue Good news on the election front for Cochise Technology District (Sierra Vista Unified and Bisbee Unified new member -Tolleson Union and passed bond 74.9 million New chair in Senate Education Committiee- Senate Kimberly Yee replacing Senator Rich Crandall Met with several Occ Deans for Community College Systems to discuss like issues such as Nursing Clinicals and Scholarship Limits University Representative (Nicole Hampton) Not present Workforce Development (Randy Kimmens) Many partnerships are being formed and outreach. There is corporate training for non-credit and credit opportunities. Emerging technologies at Gateway and structured and rigorous programs. There are bachelor degree opportunities at the community college. Industry clusters. Morrison Group Think Tank. ACTE Region V Report and Possible Conference in Arizona 2015 (Chuck Gallagher) Chuck was on conference call and asked all to attend Region V Conference and also to present.
