3 Page 3 of 7 1. Out of home funding cuts This is an issue as the smaller NGOs found it difficult to deal with the EOIs and the tender process. The larger NGOs are providing a different service as it is on a very tight budget Some examples are girls and boys being forced into a girls refuge and the Muslim women's group being run by St Vinnies This cut back is leading to increased stress, domestic violence and mental health problems. The assessment is based on number of people not how many hours or the complexity of the problem. Secondly the larger NGOs are employing people back into positions at a lower rate or some people are losing their jobs. This impacts particularly on women as the sector employs a high percentage of women. Note: income tax assessments are showing the proportion of your tax going to welfare. Meet with Kevin Andrew Media 2. Christopher Pyne on 6th August said that increases to higher education fees will not impact on women as much as they do not do the expensive degrees such as dentistry and law. 58% of dentists and 61% of lawyers graduating are women. Perhaps Nicole will fido this 2.Apply for a grant to make a video clip with a slogan, tune and Colour saying what contribution women can make in local

That every newsletter should in bold remind membership is due in December and that if you paid at the conference earlier in the year it is still due again. It should note to vote at the AGM you need to be an individual member not just a council member. 2. Liquid Learning Conference on Colleen Fuller is keynote speaker and is speaking on Bullying & Harassment. Clr Jenny Dowell will be hosting a Women s Forum and has placed ALGWA Website link on circulations. Jennifer Lecky advised that Muswellbrook Council has confirmed ALGWA Executive Meeting for 7 Feb 2015 Next meeting is to be held in Bathurst has this been confirmed> (if an issue move Penrith meeting forward) Judith Hannan has been appointed Chair of the Lachlan Regional Transport Committee.

Look at Friday 31 st October before Executive Meeting 1 Nov to write letter of congratulations to new CEO of LG NSW Meeting closed 4.15 p.m. Next Meeting 1 November Bathurst City Council Need to be Confirmed Marianne Saliba Monday 18 th August Motions 11.1 The ALGWA Executive endorse the shed be paid automatically from the account, and any & all invoices/receipts be forwarded to the Treasurer. Mover; M Saliba Seconded: W Waller CARRIED 11.3 ALGWA conduct a review on the Strategic Plan in form of a workshop will a review to reducing the committees to 4 Strategic Plan categories on compressing the current working groups. M Saliba & D Turley The specific goals and targets, KPI s and actions to become working documents for respective committees. Committee terms of Reference be developed and action plans to established for all committee meetings and a template for minutes and recommendations.
