I. Check-In / Breakfast 8:15 A.M. 8:45 A.M. II. Video / Introductions To kick off the meeting, President Fletcher showed Classified Senate a video titled, Death Crawl. The video inspired senate members to become leaders on campus. She also shared that Classified Senate strives to be transparent and open with our community. She then stated that Classified Senate is governed by The Brown Act and passed out a flyer detailing information. All Classified Senate meetings are open to the public. 8:45 A.M. 10:45 A.M. III. Constitution & By-Laws Secretary Cascio began by reading from the By-Laws, Article III, Duty of Officers. The officers stressed the importance of attendance and participation among all the officers and senators. Secretary Cascio also shared that, at the most recent Executive Meeting, it was decided to leave the Constitution & By-Laws subcommittee unfilled. Since updates were just completed to the Constitution & By-Laws, there is currently no need to have the committee established. If updates are needed, the Classified Senate officers will make the appropriate changes and share with the committee for suggestions and approvals at a Regular Classified Senate Meeting. IV. Surveys The Survey subcommittee shared that Survey Monkey is available for free through 4CS. Treasure Murphy shared that JotForm was another option and allows for anonymous responses. The subcommittee plans to send out a survey at the end of September gathering interest of what events the college would like to see. They also plan to send out surveys for the Halloween Contest, Holiday Luncheon, and Classified Appreciation Week. President Fletcher asked if the subcommittee could present the surveys at a meeting prior to them being sent out campus wide. 11:10 A.M. 11:30 A.M. VI. InTech Center Tour TAACCCT Coordinator, Ann Marie Allen, led Classified Senate on an exciting tour of this year s meeting location, the Industrial Technical Learning Center, located in Fontana, CA. 12:30 P.M. 1:30 P.M. VII. Special Guest: Dr. Henry Shannon Dr. Shannon led Classified Senate through an introductory exercise that allowed senate members to learn more about each other. Then, continuing the theme of the Planning Retreat, he showed a video on What It Takes to be a Great Leader by Roselinde Torres. He then discuss the three questions presented in the video and asked Senate to answer them as well. They are: 1) Where are your looking to anticipate change? 2) What is the diversity measure of your network? 3) Are you couragous enough to abandon the past? The importance of teamwork and leadership was found throughout his presentation. He also shared many of the upcoming events and improvements that are occuring on campus. He ended his presentation with the most important slide, Students are not an interruption of my work, they are my work. A philosophy shared by all of Chaffey College and Classified Senate. 1:30 P.M. 3:00 P.M. VIII. Program Services & Review (VIPS) Secretary Cascio began the PSR portion of the meeting by reading each of this year s Visionary Improvement Plan goals. The first goal being the creation of an Access database to track hiring and campus committee involvement among Classified Professionals. He then demonstrated the datebase and its current progress. He ask Classified Senate to review the database, test it, and send him suggestions/feedback. The second VIP for this year is the cloud storage system to assist subcommittees with the tracking and sharing of files used and created when planning events on campus. Secretary Cascio stated that the cloud storage system was nearly completed, and asked for senators to send him their gmail addresses. 2

Policy/Procedures: None d. Funding: Classified Senate Budget Treasurer Murphy began discussions on the Classified Senate budget by passing out a copy to each attendee. She then read each line of the budget and asked if there were any items that needed to be increased, decreased, or clarified. Senator Ramirez asked if a line item can be added to show the income of meal tickets sold for the Holiday Luncheon. Treasurer Murphy stated that meal tickets for the Holiday Luncheon are sold "at cost" and that the meal ticket income and catering expense cancel each other out. Classified Senate agreed to update the budget to reflect this change. Senator Schmidt motioned to approve the budget and Senator Mercante seconded the motion. Approval was 13-0 as amended, see attached budget. IV. REPORTS a. President President Fletcher reported that she attended the Governing Board meeting the day prior. She enjoyed the meeting and is looking forward to accreditation. She mentioned that the College Planning Council (CPC) is seeking a representative to work closely with the chairs of the committee. Treasurer Murphy stated that all Classified Senate Officers have a standing seat on CPC. b. Vice President No report c. Treasurer Treasurer Murphy reported the account balances as follows: District Account balance is $6, and the Auxiliary Account balance is $7,979.62; for a total balance of $14, Treasurer Murphy stated that she will begin ing out the account activity statements after each meeting. Bocafloja Request: Treasurer Murphy shared with Senate a request for funds she received to assist in arranging a Meet and Greet with Bocafloja as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. Bocafloja identifies culturally as Afro-mexicano (black mexican). Bocafloja promotes hispanic and black camaraderie. A documentary viewing will be included at the Meet and Greet. She asked Senate if the committee would like to partner and provide funds to assist in the event. Classified Senate agreed to vote on this item via on Monday. 2

Recording Officer Recording Officer Napoli reported the following Classified Senate birthdays: Eva Ramirez July 30, Dr. Henry Shannon August 1, Anita Fletcher August 31, Laura Myers September 10, and German Paez September 26. She also reported that Classified Senate received a thank you card from Karen Offerdahl, thanking Senate for the card she received for the passing of her mother. e. Secretary No report f. Committees Committee updates will be presented at the next meeting. V. OLD BUSINESS 4CS Fall South Retreat: President Fletcher, Senators Cascio, Ell and Myers, Past President Albertsen will all be attending the 4CS Fall South Retreat on October 14, VI. NEW BUSINESS Chaffey Tailgate 2016 October 1, 2016: President Fletcher shared with senate members that this year's annual football tailgate will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 3:30-5:30 PM. The tailgate committee once again would like Classified Senate to participate in some way. President Fletcher express how much she enjoyed supporting tailgate the previous years. Classified Senate agreed to participate in some manner. VII. VIII. IX. SPECIAL GUEST None FLOOR ITEMS Treasurer Murphy passed out miscellaneous information she received from various meetings, such as, the college's mission statement and an economic value fact sheet.
