INTRODUCTONS/ ICE BREAKERS President: Tina Te welcomed Senators, Prospective Senators and Guests to the meeting. ACTION: Tina called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. Guest introductions. II. ATTENDANCE Roll Call Riza Hassan took attendance. Riza asked the P1 s to introduce their selves and asked P2 s to present their smart goals. DECISION: A quorum was established.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES -Minutes for ACTION: Motion to approve made by Travis Second by Bradley approved by the senate to approve minutes. (17,0,0) IV. RHODES REPORT NWAC Championship Jennifer Rhodes provided updates for the NWAC Championship. Mens Basketball team is ranked first in the NWAC Basketball league while Women Basketball Team ranked second.

3 V. NEW BUSINESS E-Tech Contigency Proposal First Peoples Space Technology The First Nation Club and Diversity and Equity Center collaborated for the First Peoples Space. They requested an E- Tech fund with the amount of $ This proposal is recommended by the E- Tech committee. The space will be used to spread awareness towards the Indigenous People around the world. Located in Monte Cristo 221 and maintained by the Diversity and Equity Center, the First People Space is open to all the students. This request is aimed to support the need for computers and technologies for the space. ACTION: Motion to approve made by Travis Second by John approved by the senate to approve minutes. (13,0,4) VI. UNSCHEDULED BUSINESS Black Solidarity Conference by African Diaspora Club Lakeithia Sakin presented the African Diaspora Club s experience at the Black Solidarity Conference. Everett Community College earned a

4 good reputation during the event because of EverettCC participants enthusiasm and involvement. They had the opportunity to have a lunch and chat with some known facilitators. Some of the topics discussed during the conference was the awareness towards LGBTQIA+ community. They also suggested so that EverettCC will send representatives to the conference every year. Volunteer for the Student of Color & Career Conference Volunteers needed for the conference. Senators and students can apply by going to the Student of Color & Career Conference link on the EvCC website. VII. ACTIVITY/PRESENTATIONS N/A

5 VIII. COMMITTEE REPORTS Programs Board Cameron Calder mentioned about the upcoming events organized by the Programs Board. Throwback Time Machine Shot of Reality Comedian Hypnotist Sex Week A dance party will be held in Jackson Conference Center on February 16 th. A comedy event to spread awareness on alcohol. The event will be held on March 7 th. Featuring Chris Jones who is a famous and professional hypnotist. The event will be held on March 15 th An event to provide sex education to the students. There will be presentations on safe sex, sexual assault, LGBTQIA+ community, and much more. College Committees Senate Committees Maintenance & Infrastructure N/A The Senate-SMART groups worked collaboratively on their action planning. They decided to request the college to

6 extend the roof at the bike locker. The purpose is to prevent rain drops on students. They will start by contacting VP of Maintenance, Pat Sisneros. College Services Social & Activities They planned to have a scholarship workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to provide resources and training to the students who wish to apply for the educational scholarship. The proposed time for the workshop is late November and Early December next year. The group proposed a translating system for EvCC social media. The system would benefit the students especially international students of different native language. The steps to accomplish this idea is by recruiting students who are language proficient by reaching out to different language departments.

7 IX. OFFICER REPORTS ASB VP of Public Relations Snack & Chat Yihua Tan encouraged the Senators to work at Snack and Chat table. ASB VP of Administration Constitution Review Committee ASB VP of Clubs Awards GALA ASB VP Budget & Finance S&A Budget Committee ASB President Riza Hassan asked the Senators to contact if they are interested to join the Constitution Review Committee. Travis Felver mentioned about the awards GALA theme for this year. The theme decided by the Awards GALA committee is Underwater Theme. Jenna Mohr provided an update on the committee. The committee is deciding on budget allocations. E-Tech Committee Tina Te mentioned about chairing E- Tech committee. There will be 4 hearings this week and then 2 hearings next week.

8 EvCC Food Pantry X. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REMINDERS The number of foods in the EvCC Food Pantry is decreasing. More donations needed and more food drives in Spring quarter. Throwback Time Machine Student Dance- March 2 nd from 8p.m. to 11p.m. in Jackson Center Shot of Reality- Wednesday, March 7 th at 1:30p.m. to 2:30p.m. NWAC Basketball Tournament- March 8 th through March 11 th at Fitness Center QQST- Tuesday, March 13 th at 2:30p.m. to 4:00p.m. at Jackson Center. Snack & Chat - Thursday, March 15 th at 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. Live Comedy/Hypnotist - Thursday, March 15 th at 5:00p.m. in Jackson Center Senate Meeting - Friday, March 16 th at 2:30p.m. to 4:30p.m. Club Council - Friday, March 16 th at 1:00p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Graduation R.S.V.P Deadline - April 6 th
