November Elections - A Critical Time 2 For Our State and Nation As the saying goes, we have no right to complain about our leaders if we don't vote! With the election coming soon, be sure you are registered, your friends and family are registered, and you actually vote!!! Even though it is easy to be pessimistic in Sonoma County about our chance to elect pro-life leaders, we always have tangible hope, and know that truth and justice finally win. Following is a list of SCPL endorsements. Most are Republicans for the simple reason that the Democratic Party has almost completely ousted every candidate that would buck its official platform of abortion with no restrictions, and promoting euthanasia and human genetic engineering. We are non-partisan but have little choice here. Governor: John Cox Attorney General: Steven Bailey Treasurer: Greg Conlon Controller: Konstinos Roditis Secretary of State: Mark Meuser Bd. of Equalization: Mark Burns 2 nd Cong.District: Dale Mensing 5th Cong. District: Anthony Mills 2 nd Assembly District: Matt Heath Not all offices have endorsed candidates (no prolifers running) and we generally do not endorse nonpartisan offices. The pro-life movement has many facets, but our elected officials make and administer the laws of our land and have a huge impact on our culture. We must choose wisely. Lawrence Lehr
3 SCPL To Host Noted Author/Speaker On Saturday, October 6, the Western Regional Director for National Right to Life, Brian Johnson, will be in Santa Rosa. Brian, who is also President of the California Pro-Life Council, has spoken and written internationally. His book, DEATH AS A SALESMAN, is considered the essential work on euthanasia. Brian is also the host of the syndicated radio program, "Life Matters" which is aired on stations across California and the West. You won't want to miss this opportunity to hear Brian and his wisdom and experience. As we approach the pivotal November election his message is more important than ever. This event is FREE and refreshments will be served. Donations will be gratefully accepted for his work. Time: 6:30 P.M. October 6 Place: Santa Rosa Christian Church, Pacific Avenue PLAN TO BE THERE Brian Johnson at St. Eugene's Cathedral Brian will also be speaking at St. Eugene's Parish Life Center on the morning of Oct. 6, 9:30 A.M sponsored by St. Eugene's Respect Life Committee. St. Rose Pancake Breakfast On Sunday, October 7, the monthly St. Rose breakfast will benefit the parish Respect Life Committee and pro-life causes locally and nationally. Time: 8:30 to 11:00 AM Place: St. Rose Church Parish Hall, 320 Tenth Street, Santa Rosa Price: $8 for Adults, $5 for children Menu: Swedish Pancake with egg, sausages, fruit,
coffee and/or juice. ALL WELCOME 4 40 Days Fall Vigil The fall, 2018, 40 Days for Life Campaign begins Wednesday, September 28, and will run through November 4. As we did in the spring, we will pray in front of the Planned Parenthood office at 1140 Sonoma Avenue. We hope to have volunteers there from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM every day. Forty Days is an international movement which now has peaceful prayer vigils being held at more than 400 sites this season. The Santa Rosa group has been praying for 20 campaigns, although for the first six campaigns we were meeting at a clinic which moved to an inaccessible location and later closed! The vigil in the spring was successful, as measured by the reaction we received from abortion advocates. The campaign will begin with a pot-luck dinner on Tuesday, September 25, at St. Eugene's Catholic Church, in the Parish life center, at 7:00 PM. For information, or to sign up, visit or call Judy at (707) or Mary at (707) Mary Heeney What Can You Do? A few years ago we prepared a long list of agencies that needed your help, as a volunteer or as a contributor, to the pro-life cause. The list began with PRAY
and ended with The advice is still valid. VOTE. Taxpayer Funds Buying Body Parts From Aborted Babies! Following is a copy of an just received from David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress. "Shocking news broke just a few weeks ago that the Health and Human Services Department signed a contract this summer for 'fresh' aborted baby parts with Advanced Bioscience Resources, one of Planned Parenthood's biggest and oldest co-conspirators in the criminal sale of aborted fetal parts for profit. "This week, CMP released a special report on ABR and their business relationship with Planned Parenthood and with taxpayer-sponsored government customers engaged in fetal experimentation. ABR is one of several companies implicated along with Planned Parenthood in the criminal referrals made by two congressional committees after investigating the market in aborted body parts for over a year. In December, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that these entities, Planned Parenthood and their business partners at ABR, are under federal investigation. "It is unconscionable that HHS is using taxpayer money to purchase these body parts from fetal traffickers under federal investigation for criminal profiteering. And it is depraved that this current HHS policy says that these kids are more valuable to the U.S. government dead than alive...."be sure to contact your elected representatives and officials to let them know you expect them to exercise oversight to stop government sponsorship of fetal experimentation and baby body parts trafficking." 5 Are Abortion Advocates Running Scared?
The Pro-Life community rejoiced in the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court. Not surprisingly, the abortion forces were enraged, and their actions in opposition show it. Abortion supporters, some dressed in outrageous costumes, disrupted the opening sessions of the hearings of the Senate Judiciary Committee, leading to the arrest of nearly 80 of them The hearings themselves were marked by unprecedented rudeness, even as reported by the liberal press. The Washington Post awarded California Senator Kamala Harris 4 pinocchios for her blatant misquotes. Senator Susan Collins, a pro-abortion Republican, has been threatened with nearly a million dollars in campaign funds to her opponent if she dares vote for Kavanaugh, which Collins, herself, called "bribery." Her staff has been threatened with violence. Now it's a charge of sexual misconduct, by a reputed Democratic Party activist, when they were in high school! Yes, charges of sexual misconduct are disturbing. Attempted rape is a very serious charge. Such a deed cannot be condoned. But we must question the timing. And we must realize that, especially in this politically charged atmosphere, such charges cannot be simply assumed to be true. They must be considered in the light of corroborating evidence, or the absence thereof, and in the light of the pattern of more recent behavior. A vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh is tentatively scheduled for early October. We need to be much in prayer for this. Jean Grant 6
