3 Establishment: CITIZENS WITH DISABILITIES ADVISORY BOARD Chapter 2, Article V, Divisions 1 and 6, Sarasota City Code (1986) Resolution no. 89R-214 (creating a handicapped Advisory Board) Resolution no. 90R-346 (changing meetings from monthly to every other month) Resolution no. 92R-553 (changing name of board) Resolution no. 93R-617 (changing membership from 9 to 5 members) Resolution no. 97R-966 (changing membership from 5 to 7 members and changing meetings from every othe~ month to mont~ly) - Ordinance No (changing membership from 7 to 5 members ) Board Membership - Qualifications and Other Requirements : a) The membership of the Board shall consist of persons who possess the technical, professional, financial, business or administrative skills necessary to accomplish the work of the board. Board membership shall include some persons who represent the community-at-large when appropriate. b ) c ) Unless provided otherwise, the Board shall include persons who reside within the City, unless business qualifications or a special expertise warrants an exception to the residency /property ownership criteria. Members should have reputations for integrity and community as well as have demonstrated an interest in the type of pertaining to the purpose of the Board. 4 g) Board members shall automatically be removed from membership for failure to attend three successive meetings, excluding workshop meetings I or at SUCh time that the member IS absences exceed 25% Of a l l scheduled meetings (including workshop meetings), in a given year i f the absence has not been approved by the Board, in advance, for good cause shown. Members failing to attend a meeting during at least 75% of the time the meeting is in session shall be considered not to have attended the meeting. h) This Board consists of Five Members. i ) The Board meets every other month on the third Tuesday from 10 a. m. to 12 noon in the City Commission Chambers.
