ASSESSOR S EXCHANGE Volume 27 Number 3 Summer 2010 By-Laws Language Change to the Nominating Committee Responsibilities The following represents a By-Laws language change to the Nominating Committee responsibilities, as well as a suggested makeup of the committee itself. Changes are in bold type. This change occurs under Article IV: Committees section A-6 Nominating Responsibilities. Changes are in bold type. Nominating -Responsibilities: recommend a slate of officers, county representatives, county alternates, member-at-large alternates in the absence of other ualified/nominated candidates; designate a town or city assessing official as recipient of the Lawton B. Chandler Award for an outstanding contribution to assessing practice in New Hampshire; and recommend to the Board of Directors nominations for the offices that have been vacated mid-year. Members shall be: regular membership, past president and/or past recipients of the Lawton B. Chandler Award. This committee will recommend to the Board of Directors all candidates for honorary membership. The committee shall consist of: Immediate Past President as chair for one year, with the remaining four members serving staggered 4 year terms, with one member term expiring each year. The following represents a By-Laws language change to the procedure for elections. This change occurs under Article VII: Election of Officers and Directors section D-3 first sentence only. Changes are in bold type. No later then two (2) months prior to the annual business meeting, the Election Committee shall mail an official ballot to each town or city and all ualified individuals whose dues have been paid in full as specified above.
