1 Toledo-Lucas County Public Library Minutes of the Regular Board of Trustees Meeting April 26, 2018 Main Library 8:30 a.m. Present Michael Dansack, Sheila Odesky, Jesus Salas, Susan Savage Roll Call The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Savage at 8:30 a.m., followed by roll call. Minutes The minutes of the regular meeting of March 22, 2018 were approved on motion of Mr. Dansack, seconded by Mr. Salas; all voted aye, motion carried. Resolution of Appreciation No honoring Linda Koss The Board unanimously adopted a Resolution of Appreciation honoring Linda Koss on motion of Mr. Dansack, seconded by Mr. Salas; all voted aye, motion carried. Ms. Koss has for more than 27 years repeatedly demonstrated her commitment to the goals and mission of the Library as a librarian. Note: A copy of the resolution is attached to these official minutes. Resolution of Appreciation No honoring Elizabeth Talty The Board unanimously adopted a Resolution of Appreciation honoring Elizabeth Talty on motion of Mr. Dansack, seconded by Mr. Salas; all voted aye, motion carried. Ms. Szczur has for 20 years repeatedly demonstrated her commitment to the goals and mission of the Library as a librarian. Note: A copy of the resolution is attached to these official minutes. Director s Comments Clyde Scoles congratulated the retirees and commended the Marketing and Business-Technology staff for working on the Economic Workforce brochure included in trustees packets. Deputy Director s Comments Jason Kucsma also congratulated the retirees, as we as welcomed two new staff members Events Coordinator Robin Guidera and Adult Services Coordinator Timothy Hagen. The first of three public and three staff forums will be held next week to hear comments about the upcoming Main Library renovations and temporary closure. OLC Legislative Day Manager External & Governmental Affairs Rhonda Sewell gave a brief report on Legislative Day in Columbus, Ohio. Several members of staff and Friends met with area state legislators and their aides to discuss the importance of libraries including how libraries help with workforce development. 5 Regular Meeting, May 24, 2018, Main Library Mrs. Savage announced that the next regular meeting of the Board would be on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 8:30 a.m., at the Main Library, 325 N. Michigan St., Toledo. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Board, Mrs. Savage asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting.
