BACKGROUND: The CSAC is required by federal legislation and County Ordinance # to address poverty through Community Action Programs. Federal legislation requires that at least one-third of the members be low-income individuals or representatives of low-income individuals, with the balance drawn from the private sector and elected public ufficia, or their representative. Reverend Brian Wright, residing is Council District 5, is currently a Deacon at St. Hilda/St. Patrick Episcopal Church serving those in poverty in his parish since This experience makes his input extremely valuable in addressing vulnerable populations and the ability to measure the impact of the services provided. His experience and knowledge have been an asset to the CSAC and the County as we examine issues of poverty in Snohomish COUnty, how to address them and the effectiveness of the services funded. Mr. Wright is seeking his second appointment to the CSAC

The Community Services Advisory Council is responsible for advising the Human Services Department on services and activities that address the causes and symptoms of poverty and recommending funding priorities for the Community Services Block Grant. The board is comprised of at least 12, but no more than 24 members, making efforts to have each county council district represented. Members serve three-year terms and may not serve more than two consecutive terms.
