Updates from Congress on Directions in Federal Energy Policy and Implications for State Clean Energy Programs SD 366 CESA members were given a private briefing from members of the Professional Staff from the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, including Allen Stayman, Kevin Rennert, Lara Pierpoint, Tristan Abbey, and also from Fran Wuerfmanndobler, Senior Policy Advisor for Senator Christopher A. Coons (MD). 2:30 3 pm Break, Prep for Briefing. 3:00 4:30 pm CESA-EESI Congressional Briefing 562 Dirksen Senate Office Building Congressional Briefing with Environmental and Energy Study Institute The briefing will highlight how states have been implementing innovative policies and effective approaches that are reducing the cost of generating clean energy. CESA members from six states will briefly discuss examples of clean energy projects that have made important impacts in their states. A CESA representative will then explain the necessity for continued federal policy support to reinforce these initiatives and will emphasize the desirability of state-federal partnerships.
