2 Purpose UNESCO is convening an experts meeting with educators and scholars specializing in Holocaust issues to analyze various aspects of the relationship between Holocaust education and remembrance processes. The expert meeting will analyze how and why the genocide of the Jewish people has become a global reference for mass violence, as well as the challenges this entails in education. It will outline the role Holocaust Education can play in tackling difficult issues of the past in different national contexts and will explore ways to manage divisive and competitive memories through education.
