2 Conceptual classifica/ons Ci/zen, foreigner, refugees, labour migrant? We create conceptual, ideological and legisla/ve classifica/ons over diversity These classifica/ons associate with different rights and obliga/ons Tool for social inclusion or exclusion; economically, socially, poli/cally.

3 Integra/on? Defini/on? Equal with Social cohesion? Par%cipa%on of migrants to the society in economic, socio-cultural and poli%cal terms The social cohesion bethween host and immigrant socie/es Not only an ins/tu/onal process but a mental process Requires social acceptance, not one-sided, comprehensive

5 Assimila/on In 1960, ques/oning assimila/on: 1. Differences did not disappear! 2. There might be a full integra/on into a society and full par/cipa/on to its major ins/tu/ons. This does not mean abandoning specific iden/ty.
