3 Page 3 FAFSA Roadshow Tomorrow at Westside Calling all Class of 2019 Students and Families! Do you need help completing the FAFSA? The FAFSA Roadshow is at Westside High School on Tuesday, December 11th, from 4:30-7:30 PM. It is a workshop-style event where seniors and their parents can get one-on-one assistance completing their FAFSA applications. In addition to our own College Center staff, experts from HISD will be on hand to help all students get their FAFSA completed in time to meet the new January 15 th deadline. Feel free to arrive at your convenience during the workshop. There will be no formal presentation, but be sure to give yourself enough time to get the assistance you need. If you already submitted your FAF- SA and were selected for verification, you are also encouraged to attend the workshop for assistance. This new FAFSA deadline is earlier than ever! FAFSA must be completed, including the verification process, by January 15, Winter Break December 21-January 4

5 Page 5 Choir Student Advancing to Area Westside Student at All-Region Orchestra Congratulations to Jin Haugland for placing in the top five at the recent Pre- Area Choir Competition. Jin will advance to Area auditions in January. Westside Choir Director Natalia Douris noted that Jin s participation in Area auditions is a distinct honor among a prestigious field of competitors. Congratulations to Annie Yang, pictured with Westside Orchestra Director, Jessica Vandruff. Annie performed in the All-Region Philharmonic Orchestra last weekend, along with top musicians from Houston, Katy, and Alief ISDs. It s a Great Day to Be A Wolf!
