Joe makes everything on the guitars himself, and works mainly in maple and ash. In addition to guitar construction, Joe wrote and recorded music used on MTV for two of their reality shows. He also licensed music to various video game companies for game backgrounds. He also produced two CDs of his music from his home studio in California before moving to Monroe. If you wish to view his guitar demos, go To YouTube at: v=c9zvprkqqug MITEK IS HUGE WORLD- WIDE Teresa Journalien and Jamie Rasmussen shared the MITEK story with Kiwanians on April 14. In addition to its Monroe facilities, it has plants in Pheonix; Ennis, TX.; Winslow, and China. With a million square feet of manufacturing facilities worldwide, MITEK produces a wide variety of sound equipment, from consumer-oriented to commercial. It is the only firm building sound systems for many military applications and our submarines all use MITEK systems. There are 9,000 speakers in the Bellagio hotel in Law Vegas, all by MITEK. The company re- tails its products in 80 countries. The firm has been growing since its inception and in 1990 purchased Oaktron here in Monroe. It uses state of the art manufacturing equipment for its products and is ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Certified. The club scholarship committee has met and selected four MHS students, each to receive $750 tech school scholarships. There are four students also receiving second year recurring $250 awards.
