Although it is late again, the harvest fair is finally getting their Homebrew competition off the ground. I will be meeting them this Friday at 8-9am.
5 Gmail - Fwd: Call to Vote: Harvest Fair and 4th Wednesday of the Month Club Meeting 2 of 2 6/24/2015 9:26 AM Last year we voted that there was no time to handle the Harvest Fair Homebrew Competition due to the lack of follow through from the Harvest Fair members. John and I tried to improve communications by doing a presentation at the Harvest Fair It was my concern that dropping the Battle of the Brews Competition 2015 in favor of the Harvest Fair Competition 2015 would backfire on us due to the same slow process. Well here we are at the same late date. It s do or die. I have told the Harvest Fair that we have to kickstart this event immediately if it is going to happen. I have asked the Beverage People for a meeting date on Wednesday July 22nd. I would like to look at this being the standing meeting, 4th Wednesday of each month. Unless a Special event, Christmas Party, Iron Brewer.. takes it s place. The subject of the meeting will be a Lambic Style talk, specifically to showcase the Rare Barrel Lambic with Belgian Sour Cherries. I would also like to bring up water conservation, water testing, and any additional Gose samples that members would like to bring in that were outside the Quarterly contest rules. Regarding the Water test kit: Since we apparently have lost our test kit. I will bring in mine and perhaps we can order replacement test ingredients in the future. I am working on a couple social events that will be in addition to the scheduled monthly meeting. Ideas: Meet the Brewer at Plow and Cooperage I propose: 1) We move forward with the Harvest Fair Homebrew Competition ) Create a standing club meeting on the 4th Wednesday of each month. 3) Lambic Style Talk and Tasting, Water Conservation, Water Testing. - Wednesday July 22nd Can I get a second and a vote of yes or no on each subject. Thanks Ron
