5 MEA- Russian atomic energy agency Rosatom has said that Indian companies can now participate in construction and installation works in the "non-critical" category for the Rooppur nuclear power plant in Bangladesh. The Rooppur project is the first initiative under an Indo- Russian deal to undertake atomic energy projects in third countries.

According to Rosatom, India, Bangladesh and Russia signed an agreement to this effect yesterday.

6 - This will also be the first time Indian companies will be able to participate in a nuclear power project abroad. The Memorandum of Understanding, signed in Moscow, sets a framework for interaction of Russian contractor, and Indian and Bangladeshi experts in the implementation of works related to the project.

7 MEA- President of Vietnam, Tran Dai Quang arrived at Bodh Gaya in Bihar. His excellency is on a three-day visit to India. He was accorded welcome at the airport. He was accompanied by his wife Mrs Nguyen Thi Hien and a 40-member official delegation. He will meet President Ram Nath Kovind and also hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In his press statement after holding delegation level talks with President of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang in New Delhi, Mr Modi said, both countries will work for strengthening Defence, Maritime and energy cooperation. He said, Vietnam has played important role under Act East policy and bi-lateral trade between the two nations has grown from six billion dollars to 10 billion dollars despite global slowdown.

10 World News- In Azerbaijan, at least 30 people were today killed after a fire tore through a drug rehabilitation clinic in capital Baku. Local media reports said, firefighters and rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations extinguished the blaze. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

The government said in a statement, at least four assailants were killed when they attacked the embassy in the Burkina Faso, capital Ouagadougou, while the country's military headquarters was also targeted. It said that a complete toll was not immediately available. French President Emmanuel Macron has urged French nationals in the country to follow the embassy's advice and stay away from troubled areas.

14 Ministry of Defence- The Indian Navy's second ocean going sailboat, INSV Tarini entered Cape Town in South Africa today during it s maiden voyage to circumnavigate the globe. This is the first-ever Indian circumnavigation of the globe by an all-women crew. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had flagged off INSV Tarini from Goa on 10th September last year.
