MOTORS (IE CODE) EFFICIENCY CLASSES AND PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION (THIRD REVISION) [Page 1, Clause 1.1 (m), line 9] Substitute see 11 for see 12. (Page 1, Clause 1.1, Note 5) Insert the following para at the end: Motors which are used with service factor > 1.0 for a continuous duration greater than 1h must meet the efficiency corresponding to the actual power (service factor x rated kw marked on the nameplate). (Page 3, Clause 6, para 2, line 5) Insert the word measured after the word and. (Page 4, Clause 12.3) Insert the following para at the end: If a motor carries a sustained overload due to operation at service factor > 1.0 then note 5 under 1.1 shall apply. (Page 4, Clause , Note) Substitute the following for the existing note: Motors operated by frequency converters may have higher losses as compared to line (sinusoidal) power supply due to the harmonic voltage content. These motors must be tested on sinusoidal supply and efficiency must meet the declared efficiency class (which should not be lower than IE2 class). (Page 5, Clause , Note) Insert the words for IE2 motors only at the end. (Page 9, Table 2, Note 2) Substitute the following for the existing note and renumber the subsequent notes: 2 If the pull-up torque occurs at 0 speed, then minimum value of the starting torque permitted (subject to no tolerance) shall be 0.5 times the rated torque 3 Sometimes motors are required to be offered in frame sizes higher than as stipulated in Table 3 of IS Such cases are covered for IE classification and marking. The motor shall meet the performance parameters of the rated power (Table 1 to Table 4).
