1 STAY CONNECTED CHICAGO URBAN LEAGUE IN THE NEWS Chicago Urban League Black Film Festival Continues with "70 Acres in Chicago: Cabrini Green" Earlier this week, the Chicago Urban League continued its 6th Annual Black Film Festival with a screening of "70 Acres in Chicago: Cabrini Green." The panel discussion that followed focused on the displacement and unfair treatment of residents after the demolition of housing project Cabrini Green. Kendra Freeman of the Metropolitan Planning Council, Mark Pratt, a producer of the documentary and

2 Margaret Wooten, Director of Housing and Financial Empowerment at the Chicago Urban League served as panelists. CUL Human Capital student Zariah Benson saw the film for the first time and wrote a blog about it. "I really appreciate the opportunity to be able to talk about the movie '70 acres in Chicago,' said Benson. "Through this movie, I saw the love of a community torn down and taken away." Read the entire blog here. Each week, a small business owner who has completed CUL's Entrepreneurship Center program is featured at the film fest. Alice Upchurch, owner of A More Fabulous U was on site showcasing her affordable jewelry and accessories.
