President Trump Uses His Presidential Pen To Abolish Obama's Three Major Policies Celebrities Washington: President Trump approved three presidential directives this Monday, eliminating U.S. assistance for a Pacific trade deal, forcing a hiring freeze in private companies, and returning and developing the so-called Mexico City plan that forbids U.S. aid from strengthening international groups that advocate abortion. An administrative order confirmed on Obamacare and continued White House memo freezing Obama-era regulations, Trump's first-week exec. acts signal a U-turn from signature Obama government policies. But they also show a drive to put his imprint on the executive office and assert an influential presidential role in business policy. "Everybody knows what I'm about to do," Trump said before signing the directives. And then Trump moved ahead to sign the withdrawal of the US support to Trans-Pacific Partnership, a 12- nation-deal which was signed by Barack Obama but wasn't ratified by the Senate.
"We ve been talking about this for a long time. A great thing for the American worker, what we just did," says Trump. Would Trump's business approach work to make American economy strong? Image not readable or empty /www/control/public/upload_html/upload/donaldtrump/photos/a / /?type=3&theater Because after joining with union chiefs later in the day, Trump called it "a very powerful document" and vowed an end to multi-nation business agreements. "We're going to have the trade, but we're going to have it one-on-one, and if somebody misbehaves, we're going to send them a letter of termination, 30 days, and they'll either straighten it out, or we're gone," said President Trump. "Not one of these deals where we can't get out of them. It's a disaster," reports USA Today. What was lost is now gained back by Donald Trump.
Image not readable or empty /www/control/public/upload_html/upload/donaldtrump/photos/a / /?type=3&theater The Mexico City policy, referred to as the "global gag rule" by abortion rights groups, was first embraced by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and has been subordinate to presidential ding-dong ever since. Democratic leaders abolished it as one of their first acts in office; Republicans restore it. In reinstating the Mexico City plan, Trump revived Reagan-Bush speech that "taxpayer funds appropriated pursuant to the Foreign Assistance Act should not be given to foreign nongovernmental organizations that perform abortions or actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations," said Trump. Sean Spicer, the White House Secretary, says Trump's policies shouldn't be a surprise.
"The president has made it no secret that he's a pro-life president," Spicer said. "He wants to stand up for all American's including the unborn and I think the reinstatement of this policy is not just something that echoes that value but respects taxpayer funding as well," says Spicer as reported by Donald Trump. Trump following the footsteps of Ronald Reagan.
Image not readable or empty /www/control/public/upload_html/upload/donaldtrump/photos/a / /?type=3&theater :The central hiring pause is in line with a related freeze by Reagan on his first day. Trump made exemptions for military, national security and public safety positions, as well as others, deemed "otherwise necessary" by the Office of Personnel Management. "Control over the administrative state is key to presidential power," said Andrew Rudalevige, a Bowdoin College professor who studies presidential power. "It s important for the president to get an early grasp on what they control." Related: Why America Preferred Donald Trump Over Hillary Clinton These directives are merely the presidential memorandums.
None of the directives were governing orders, but rather presidential notes. Sometimes known as "executive orders by another name," presidential records became President Obama's central power device of choice, signing more of them than any president in history even as he tempered the use of executive orders. In this picture, Trump in the Oval Office.
Trump previously signed his first executive order on Friday, directing agencies to allow more versatility to states, businesses, and customers in bringing out the Affordable Care Act while the Republican-controlled Congress works to repeal it.
