The speaker recognized Representative Simmons who introduced Dr. Brent Taylor, senior pastor, First Baptist Church, Carrollton, who offered the invocation as follows: Gracious God, we thank you for your many blessings in our lives and for your continual demonstration of your kindness and mercy. Thank you that you have blessed our nation with liberties and freedoms few know around the world. Thank you for the abundance of provision you have provided this nation. I thank you for the great State of Texas. For the leaders who have gone before us, we thank you for their commitment, dedication, and faithfulness. For the people of this great state, we pray for your protection, peace, and blessings. I pray for these members of the Texas House of Representatives, that you would grant them courage, firmness, vision, and faith. I pray you would richly bless them with wisdom, clarity, and strength as they lead our state. I pray you

I pray for your divine hand to be upon each member and their staff as they lead our state and make important decisions. May you, O God, be blessed by the work of your servants. The following resolution was laid before the house: HR 417, Honoring the Anti-Defamation League on the occasion of its 100th anniversary. HR 417 was adopted. On motion of Representative Naishtat, the names of all the members of the house were added to HRi417 as signers thereof.
