19 Wisconsin Chapter American Public Works Association August 2016 Past Presidents Report APWA Past Presidents Dave Botts, Mike Lemens, John Edlebeck, Jeff Mazanec, Paul Woodard, Mike Dailey, Maurie Rott and Dale Hexom last met at the 2016 Spring Conference. A number of items and issues were discussed. Spring Conference Vendor Exhibits Have a vendor show case or spotlight similar to what is done at national. Vendors would have the opportunity on the floor to do a short presentation. Color code the attendee name badges so vendors can easily identify where people are from. One color for municipal, another for consultant, another for county, etc Conferences with 3 Educational Tracks This has been discussed and presented in the past. While it could be good to offer more session options, some conference venues may not be able to provide enough meeting rooms. 3 tracks would also place some additional pressure on the committees to propose sessions and speakers to fill the sessions Conference Planners Guidebook The Past Presidents discussed the conference guidebook that Paul Woodard has been revising and updating. There have been two conference guidebooks, one for fall and one for spring. Paul had originally put the revision together as a spring conference guide. He will revise it so it will apply for both spring and fall conferences. He hopes to have an updated version by the fall conference. Future Conferences 2016 Fall Janesville 2017 Spring Madison 2017 Fall Wausau 2018 Spring Oshkosh Past Presidents discussed the feasibility of offering a pre-conference workshop on the Wednesday of the fall conference. The workshop would focus on a specific topic with all of the sessions tied to that topic. Report submitted by Dale Hexom I am retiring from the City of La Crosse on December 31, I will be moving out of state and would request that another Past President be appointed or volunteer to chair the Past Presidents Committee.
