CALL TO ORDER West Metro Fire Protection District Special Civil Service Committee Meetings January 23, 2017 January 26, 2017 This special meeting of the West Metro Fire Protection District Civil Service Committee was called to order by at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 23, The meeting was held in accordance with the applicable statutes of the state of Colorado, at West Metro Fire Protection District s Training Center, at 3535 S. Kipling Street, Lakewood, Colorado. II. ROLL CALL Also present were Matt Gruver and Dave Yamahata from Jack Clancy & Associates (JCA), West Metro Training Chief Dan Pfannenstiel, and subject matter experts (SMEs) Scott Rogers, Steve Aseltine, and Tony Wilkins, and Lieutenant Mike Binney. 2 III ASSISTANT CHIEF EXAM ASSESSOR TRAINING JCA conducted a training session for the eight assessors that will be grading the West Metro candidates testing for assistant chief and one role play actor (Powell). A total of ten candidates will be tested over the next three days IV. RECESS MOTION: At approximately 3:30 p.m., it was moved by Dick Igel and seconded by Leo Johnson to recess the special meeting of the West Metro Fire Protection District Civil Service Committee until Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. The motion was voted upon and V. CALL TO ORDER was reconvened by Dick Igel at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, VI. RECESS MOTION: At approximately 3:45 p.m., it was moved by Joan Rosenberger and seconded by Don Sherman to recess the special meeting of the West Metro Fire Protection District Civil Service Committee until Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. The motion was voted upon and IX. CALL TO ORDER was reconvened by Joan Rosenberger at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 25, X. ROLL CALL arrived at 12:30 p.m. arrived at 9:30 a.m. departed at 12:30 p.m. Chief Dan Pfannenstiel, and SMEs Scott Rogers and Steve Aseltine, and Lieutenant Mike Binney. (Role Player) XI ASSISTANT CHIEF EXAM DAY 2 Four candidates tested for the presentation and the organizational exercises, and six candidates tested for the operational and the administrative exercises for the rank of -3-

4 Command staff was briefed by the assessors for the presentation and organizational exercises after all candidates completed this portion of the test. Also present for the debriefing was Fire Chief Don Lombardi. XII. RECESS MOTION: At approximately 5:00 p.m., it was moved by Leo Johnson and seconded by Don Sherman to recess the special meeting of the West Metro Fire Protection District Civil Service Committee until Thursday, January 26, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. The motion was voted upon and XIII. CALL TO ORDER was reconvened by Leo Johnson at 8:20 a.m., Thursday, January 26, XIV. ROLL CALL arrived at 11:00 a.m. departed at 1:15 p.m. Chief Dan Pfannenstiel, and SMEs Scott Rogers and Steve Aseltine, and Lieutenant Mike Binney. 5 XVI ASSISTANT CHIEF EXAM DEBRIEFING Command staff and Training Division staff were briefed by the assessors after all candidates finished testing. Also present was Fire Chief Don Lombardi. MOTION: It was moved by Tom Coonley and seconded by Danny Turney to approve JCA to provide the written comments from the assessors for the candidates performance to Chief Lombardi for his review. The motion was voted upon and XVII. RATIFICATION OF EXAM SCORES FOR POSTING MOTION: It was moved by Joan Rosenberger and seconded by Danny Turney to ratify the final test scores of the 2017 assistant chief exam and approve the posting of the scores on Thursday, January 26, The motion was voted upon and XVIII. CERTIFY NAMES FROM ELIGIBILITY REGISTERS MOTION: It was moved by Tom Coonley and seconded by Susan Emsbo to certify the top three names (Jackson, Johnston, Kirkpatrick) from the eligibility register for the rank of The motion was voted upon and MOTION: It was moved by Danny Turney and seconded by Dick Igel to certify the top three names (O Hara, Brennan, Gaiser) from the eligibility register for the rank of captain. The motion was voted upon and MOTION: It was moved by Susan Emsbo and seconded by Tom Coonley to certify the top four names (Erosky, Stodden, Beattie, Eberle) from the eligibility register for the rank of lieutenant for two open positions. The motion was voted upon and XVIV. ADJOURNMENT MOTION: There being no further business, it was moved by Tom Coonley and seconded by Danny Turney to adjourn the special meeting of the West Metro Fire Protection District Civil Service Committee.
