8 NEXT: NHTSA TRAFFIC RECORDS ADVISORY WORKSHOP WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS The recently revised Traffic Records Program Assessment Advisory provides States with updated information on the contents and capabilities of an ideal traffic records system that supports high-quality decisions that enables cost effective improvements in highway and traffic safety. In addition, the revised Advisory introduces a comprehensive approach for assessing the collection, management, and analysis of traffic records data. This new approach is based on a uniform set of assessment questions and explicit standards of evidence that identify the specific information necessary to answer each question. This assessment instrument was designed to highlight the strengths of a State traffic records system as well as opportunities for improvement. NHTSA TRAFFIC RECORDS ADVISORY WORKSHOP This workshop will provide participants an in-depth walkthrough of the updated Traffic Records Program Assessment Advisory and the assessment questions. Each session will include a presentation of the ideal attributes for that specific traffic records system as well as a discussion of the assessment questions and associated standards of evidence used to assess responses.
