3 TEXAS ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE COMMISSION (458) Unaudited LOCAL OPTION ELECTIONS There were twenty-two local option elections during the fiscal year ending August 31, Four elections were called to legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages; two remained "dry" and two became "wet." One election was called to legalize the sale of beer and wine; one remained "dry." One election was called to prohibit the sale of all alcoholic beverages for offpremise consumption only; one remains "wet-" Eight elections were called to legalize the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption only; three remain "dry" and five became "wet." Two elections were called to legalize the sale of beer for off-premise consumption only; one became "wet" and one remained "dry. II Six elections were called to legalize the sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only; five became "wet" and one remained "dry." The voting for the fiscal year: 8LANCO COUNTY A local option election was held on Novem~er 3, 1987, in Precinct 3, Blanco County, for the issue of "The legal sale of an alcoholic beverages, inc 1ud ing mi xed beverages. II The elect ion passed by a vote of 360 FOR and 114 AGAINST. Precinct 3, Blanco County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages. The election failed by a vote of 72 FOR and 200 AGAINST. City of New Hope, Collin County, was "dry" before the election and remains "dry." COOKE COUNTY A local option election was held on October 12, 1987, in the City of Oak Ridge, Cooke County, for the issue of "The legal sale of beer for off-premise consumption only." The election passsed by a vote of 52 FOR and 4 AGAINST. The City of Oak Ridge, Cooke County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of beer for off-premise consumption only. CORYELL COUNTY A local option election was held on June 4, in the City of Fort Gates, Coryell County, for the issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only." The election passed by a vote of 177 FOR and 144 AGAINST. The City of Fort Gates. Coryell County, was "dry" before the election and became "wet" for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only. CROCKETT COUNTY A local option election was held on June 3, 1988, in Crockett County for the issue of "The legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for offpremise consumption only." The election passed by a vote of 659 FOR and 550 AGAINST. II The election passed by a vote of 492 FOR and 456 AGAINST. J.P.
