2 Japan Marketing Committee Report to Executive Committee Date: March 14, 2012 Submitted by: Colin Teraoka A. Subject 2012 Tokyo Seminar None this year Details On January 11, 2012 in this HCIC/HID briefing session, George Sumner said the State will not be having a Tokyo seminar this year. Instead the State will follow the same format as last year, meeting with potential clients in Japan at the invitation of captive managers. B. Subject Compilation of captive informational brochure in Japan Details The compilation is 60% complete. We are planning to distribute the materials for editorial comment to Japanese speakers in the HCIC by the end of this month. Summary Currently focusing on compilation of captive informational brochure.
3 Membership Committee Report to Executive Committee Date: 03/14/12 Submitted by: Danel Licari/Ed Haik (Co Chairs) List Committee Members: Danel Licari, Ed Haik, Jason Palmer A Membership Renewals 1) Total of 77 members signed up to date. 49 captive owners (49 X $325 = $15,925) 28 service providers (28 X $800 = $22,400) Total revenues from service provider and owner members to date = $38,325. 2) Last year at this time 57 members had renewed (35 owners, 22 service providers). The committee is working on exceeding last year s total membership of approximately 85. B. IPad Drawing Membership Incentive Drive 1) And the winner is.congratulations to Jamie Jackson of Western States Insurance Company. Jamie was notified by Kari who also took care of purchasing and shipping of IPad. 2) Announcement to be made in newsletter and website. Photograph may be included if available. C Hotel Benefit Renewals 1) Committee is in the process of renewing corporate rate programs. 2) New Contract renewals: Hilton Hawaiian Village Sheraton Maui Ritz Carlton (Maui) Contracts previously renewed: JW Marriott Ihilani Prince Hotels (Hawaii Prince Waikiki, Hapuna Beach Prince, Mauna Kea Beach) 3) Website to be updated on a continuing basis. D. Other Business 1) Seeking another committee member.
4 Marketing Committee Report to Executive Committee March 14, 2012 Offices of AON Insurance Managers Honolulu, Hawaii Committee Members: Scot Sterenberg, Chair Jerelyn Brown Ward Ching Kevin Higa Chris Mertes Paul Shimomoto Alice West The Marketing Committee convened a meeting on January 26, 2012 with George Sumner in attendance and the following is a summary of item of significant issues and corresponding action: A. The Why Hawaii re draft was reviewed and is being circulated for further revisions. Final to be published at RIMS B. The Logos project was discussed and the following action items with corresponding timeline were agreed upon: Paul and Scot will develop authorization form for use of name and logo in March 12 Seek input from stakeholders and finalize form in April May 12 Create or use third party to develop slide show format May June 12 Distribute form and seek authorization from owners in June Aug 12 Publish presentation Sept 12 C. We coordinated event conference schedule with the State of Hawaii. The HCIC is exhibiting at CICA conference this year and may not exhibit at the VT conference. D. Newsletter is planned for March Please submit any relevant articles to Scot or Kari by ASAP. We plan on making newsletter available for RIMS.
5 Web Committee Report to Executive Committee Date: March 14, 2012, List Committee Members: Submitted by: Ward Ching with Fay Okamoto Ward Ching, Fay Okamoto, Kari Nettle, Joseph Petko (Owner Participant), and Dean Uyeda (Vendor Participant). Ward Ching will seek to recruit more owner/vendor members to the committee C. Subject: Website Review o Website Review is continuing, with Kari providing Ward with design changes to the cover and content elements. D. Subject: Website Content o Hawaii Means Business in review with the Marketing Committee. Comments have been received from some Marketing Committee members and Website members. We are awaiting BOD approval to proceed. E. Subject: Next Steps March April 12 o Continue to work with HCIC web designer and Kari to redesign website cover page and links in preparation for BOD presentation. o Edit and install Hawaii Means Business content, color pallet and supporting pictures for BOD approval.
