4 7. PLANNING & ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY COMMISSION ACTION SHEET A. AUGUST 15, 2017, MEETING (1) General Plan Amendment #2-17 A resolution of the Planning and Environmental Quality Commission of the City of Gardena, California, recommending that the City Council amend the Circulation Element of the General Plan to eliminate West 165th Place between New Hampshire Avenue and Vermont Avenue. In addition, the Planning Commission will also be making findings of general plan consistency regarding the vacation of West 165th Place between New Hampshire Avenue and the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way and disposal of adjacent City-owned property used as a parking lot located at an unaddressed property on South New Hampshire Avenue, one block south of West Gardena Boulevard Project Location: An unaddressed property on South New Hampshire Avenue, one block south of West Gardena Boulevard behind the Gardena Supermarket (APN: ) Applicant: City of Gardena Commission Action: Commission approved PC Resolution No. #15-17 to approve General Plan Amendment #2-17 Receive and File B. SEPTEMBER 5, 2017, MEETING (1) Resolution No. PC A resolution of the Planning and Environmental Quality Commission recommending that the City Council make amendments to Chapter of the Gardena Municipal Code relating to medical cannabis, adopting a permanent prohibition of all commercial marijuana activities in the City and imposing regulations for personal cultivation of marijuana and directing staff to file a notice of exemption as this Ordinance is exempt from CEQA. Additionally, adopting a permanent prohibition of all commercial marijuana activities in the city and imposing regulations for personal cultivation of marijuana is exempt pursuant to Guidelines section 15061(b)(3) under the General Rule that a project is exempt from CEQA where it can be seen with certainty that the activity will not have any significant effect on the environment. Project Location: Citywide Applicant: City of Gardena Commission Action: Commission approved PC Resolution No. #16-17 to approve Zone Code Amendment #3-17. Receive and File ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Oral Communications by the public will be heard for one-half hour at or before 8:30 p.m. or at the conclusion of the last agenda item commenced prior to 8:30 p.m. Oral Communications not concluded at that time shall be resumed at the end of the meeting after Council Reports.
