Visitors were welcomed and acknowledged. President Bish informed the public that there was an executive session/interviews/personnel meeting on May 24, 2016 at 5:15 6:53 p.m. No action taken

2 1467 A motion was made by Timothy Britton, seconded by James Brown, to approve the minutes of the May 10, 2016 regular board meeting. Motion unanimously carried by all members present. B.A.E.A. No report B.A.E.S.P.A. No report GENERAL PUBLIC Mr. Andreas questioned the necessity of existing principal administration and the necessity of the real estate tax increase. Mr. Sabatose thanked the Board for allowing Brockway students to participate in fish stocking program. He went on to ask the Board to consider postponing the hiring of a high school principal. BUILDING, SUPPLIES, & CAFETERIA COMMITTEE Timothy Britton, Chairperson A motion was made by Timothy Britton, seconded by Robert Grecco, to allow Jefferson- Clarion Head Start, to utilize two of our classrooms to offer Pre-School and Head Start services. Motion unanimously carried by all members present. A motion was made by Timothy Britton, seconded by James Brown, to approve the preventative maintenance agreement with CMW Energy Utilities, Inc., Angola, NY, effective July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017, at a cost of $9,820. ($9,329 5% discount if paid in full by 7/1/16) Same dollar amount as last year. Motion unanimously carried by all members present.

5 1470 A motion was made by Timothy Britton, seconded by Robert Cherubini, to approve the awarding of the general supplies and equipment bids to the lowest bidders that meet specifications or approved CoStar vendor in the amount of $71, ( $72,426.64) Motion unanimously carried by all members present. Motion unanimously carried by all members present.

6 1471 A motion was made by Robert Cherubini, seconded by Timothy Britton, to name the depositories for the Brockway Area School District for school year consistent with the prior year. ( First Commonwealth Bank Cafeteria, S & T Bank of Pennsylvania all other accounts) Motion unanimously carried by all members present. A motion was made by Robert Cherubini, seconded by Timothy Britton, to appoint the treasurer for the Brockway Area School District for school year consistent with the prior year. ( S & T Bank of Pennsylvania) Motion unanimously carried by all members present. A motion was made by Robert Cherubini, seconded by Timothy Britton, to name the solicitor for the Brockway Area School District for the school year consistent with the prior year and to set his annual retainer at $2, ( Law Firm of Ferraro, Kruk, & Ferraro $2,500.00) Motion carried. 7 1472 A motion was made by Robert Cherubini, seconded by Timothy Britton, to approve the 2016 Tax Exonerations of people 68 years of age and older as per guidelines of the Brockway Area School District Tax Policies. Motion unanimously carried by all members present. A motion was made by Robert Cherubini, seconded by Timothy Britton, to approve the homestead/farmstead exclusion real estate assessed value reduction equal to $8,550 (Jefferson County) and $6,832 (Elk County) for each owner of an approved homestead and farmstead within the District as communicated by the applicable County Assessment Offices. This will result in a homestead and farmstead tax credit of approximately $ provided your School District property taxes exceed the amount. This exclusion will not apply to interim in real estate tax bills in Elk County. Motion unanimously carried by all members present. A motion was made by Robert Cherubini, seconded by Timothy Britton, to adopt the proposed final budget for the school year in the amount of $15,882,800 and that it be advertised prior to adoption at the meeting scheduled for June 28, ( $14,559,228 increase of $1,323,572 9%) Motion unanimously carried by all members present. A motion was made by Robert Cherubini, seconded by Timothy Britton, to authorize the administration to complete applications for the following federal programs: Title I Improving Basic Programs Title IIA Improving Teacher Quality

8 Motion unanimously carried by all members present 1473 A motion was made by Robert Cherubini, seconded by Timothy Britton, to approve the commitment of the unassigned fund balance for the following amounts: A. $300,000 for the projected increases in the school district s retirement contributions for the next 5 years B. $1,000,000 for the debt payment due in school year Motion unanimously carried by all members present. INSTRUCTIONAL AND PERSONNEL COMMITTEE Jacqueline Manno, Vice-Chairperson Congratulations to Peter Grecco, Athletic/Transporation Director, who was recently appointed to the PIAA District IX Committee. A motion was made by Jacqueline Manno, seconded by Timothy Britton, to approve the use of a certified therapy dog in our special needs classrooms. Motion unanimously carried by all members present. A motion was made by Jacqueline Manno, seconded by Timothy Britton, to approve Rick Clark, as head boys basketball coach, effective immediately. Salary to be determined at a later date. A motion was made by Jacqueline Manno, seconded by Timothy Britton, to hire Jeffery Vizza as a high school principal at a salary of $105,000 and accept the transfer of 50 sick days from his previous employer.
