3 Law Enforcement Report Officer Buzinski provided council with the Linn County Sheriff s Town Council Report, he stated that there were hours of service in the month of October and 81 calls for service October 24, 2017 thru November 14, Public Hearing FY18 Budget Amendment #2 City Administrator Huisman provided details of the budget amendment. The second FY18 Budget Amendment public hearing was opened at 6:03 pm, there were no citizen comments and there no comments were received by the clerk s office. The public hearing closed at 6:03 pm. M/S Stuelke/ Mann To approve Resolution A resolution to approve the second budget amendment for FY2018. Aye: Andrews, Stuelke, Hendryx, Morgan, Mann Brice s Addition Alley Vacated Property Sale The Brice s Addition Alley Vacated Property Sale public hearing opened at 6:04 pm, there were no citizen comments and no comment were received by the clerk s office. The public hearing closed at 6:04 pm. M/S Andrews/Morgan To approve Resolution A resolution approving sale of city property described as all of the north south alley lying between lots one (1) through four (4), and lots five (5) through eight (8), Brice s Division to the Town of Center Point, Linn County, Iowa, and directing manner of execution of deeds. Aye: Mann, Morgan, Hendryx, Stuelke, Andrews Citizen Comments None Petitions and Communications True North Insurance Presentation City Administrator Huisman recommended that the council approve the dental plan tonight but hold off on the health insurance until we have time to review different options since the increase on the current plan is

4 33%. Joshua Budke from True North explained the reasons for the significant increases and some of the options available. 5 City Department Reports City Administrator Huisman asked council if they would like to have another work session instead of putting it on a regular agenda, council asked to schedule a work session since the topics require a lot of discussion and it s too much for one meeting. Huisman also provided council the details for the upcoming auction for 209 Main Street. Old Business Community surveys Council will review the information, and asked staff to condense the report and have it available at the library for citizen review. New Business Fireworks Ordinance Council discussed the ordinance and determined that no changes need to be made. Set public hearing for sale of 209 Main Street M/S Andrews/Hendryx To approve Resolution A resolution directing publication of notice of hearing on proposed sale of a portion of public property located at 209 Main Street, Center Point, Iowa as legally described Aye: Mann, Andrews, Stuelke, Hendryx, Morgan RFP for brush grinding services M/S Andrews/Stuelke To approve Resolution A resolution to approve the request for proposals for a compost/brush grinding services contract. Aye: Andrews, Mann, Stuelke, Morgan, Hendryx City two way handheld radio purchase PWD Shoop provided council with a brief explanation of the radio request, council asked if there were any other quotes. Shoop stated no, he explained that he talked with other communities and this is the most recommended system. Council Comment Council Member Jason Andrews on behalf of the infrastructure committee addressed council regarding River Products request for repaving Grain Lane, he stated that they would like them to come to a council meeting to make their request. Council Member Paul Mann stated that the lighted sign north side of town is not working, City Administrator Huisman and Attorney Kruse will look into it. Council Member Traer Morgan stated that he thinks the stop signs on Washington Street are working well, he feels that it has helped the safety of the neighborhood.
