2 RECORD OF ACTION/APPROVAL TOPIC/ISSUE: Nominations of new board members to fill current vacancies BACKGROUND: Several board members have retired leaving vacancies on the board. We have received three nominations. POINTS OF CONSIDERATION: Debra Stanley the Coordinator of Special Academic Program for the Citrus County Schools was recommended by the Citrus County Schools Superintendent, Sandra Himmel. This would fill the Education School District Vacancy and Citrus County. Jim Wohrley the Principal of the Marion Technical College(formerly CTAE) was recommended by the Marion County Public Schools Superintendent George Tomyn. This would fill the Education Adult vacancy and Marion County. Solomon Sarway the Chairman of CJ s Acquisitions, LLC (CJ s Power Systems) was nominated by Kevin Sheilley President of The Ocala/ Marion County CEP. Solomon is the owner of CJ s Power Systems (via CJ s Acquisitions LLC) based here in Ocala. Since Solomon has purchased CJ s earlier this year, he made a significant investment in both the business and infrastructure of the business. He has demonstrated a keen interest in the growth and development of our region. As a newcomer to the area, I think he would bring new insight into the needs of employers. His addition to the Board would bring a strong employer voice and represent the continued growth and diversification of the region s economy. Thank you for your consideration of this nomination.
