COVERAGE OF AMERICA S SURVIVAL JUNE 28, 2011 CONFERENCE AT THE NATIONAL PRESS CLUB IN WASHINGTON, D.C. Shocking new documents detail DOJ s reasons for releasing Marxist bomber The 1975 FALN bomb blast at Fraunces Tavern in New York. 1

By Matthew Boyle - The Daily Caller 07/01/2011 Newly released documents show that the Department of Justice (DOJ) allowed for the release of Marxist radical and domestic terrorist Marilyn Buck from federal prison because officials believed she learned her lesson and had expressed a dramatic change from her previous political philosophy. These new documents, obtained by investigative journalist Cliff Kincaid s America s Survival organization, shed more light on why Holder s officials decided to release Buck, a convicted radical left-wing domestic terrorist. Incredibly, Buck s attorney, Soffiyah Elijah, cited Buck s Master of Fine Arts in Poetics, completed behind bars, as evidence that she deserved parole. It s a fraud and a racket, Kincaid said at an America s Survival event on Tuesday, adding that the poems Buck wrote are not just terrible poetry but evidence of the same kind of murderous communist political ideology she was incarcerated for. Buck s first application for parole in 2003 was denied, and she was not supposed to even be reconsidered for parole until September As these new documents show, President Bush s Justice Department caved during Buck s appeal of the 2003 decision. Between 2004 and 2006, Bush administration DOJ officials agreed to grant Buck presumptive parole on Feb. 8, Presumptive parole isn t a guarantee of release. It means, for Buck to get out in 2011, she would need to meet three criteria: she could no longer be considered a danger to the community, she would have to show remorse and her release couldn t depreciate the seriousness of her offenses. Advocates for Buck s release weren t satisfied with the Bush administration s recommendation. They wanted a guarantee Buck would get out and they wanted her out sooner than So, Buck s attorney, Soffiyah Jill Elijah of Harvard Law School s Criminal Justice Institute, and a cadre of left-wing activists and academics lobbied the U.S. Parole Commission, arguing Buck was worthy of being released early and that she met the three criteria for parole. A professor from the University of California at Santa Barbara offered Buck a job as a teaching assistant and Elijah proposed that Buck could live in a room in her Brooklyn apartment. 2

Efforts to push the Bush administration further on Buck s parole terms were unsuccessful. But, when President Barack Obama took office in 2009 with Attorney General Eric Holder running the DOJ, Buck s advocates continued their efforts, and achieved. Citing her superior program achievement, Holder s DOJ agreed to move Buck s presumptive parole date up to Aug. 8, Holder s DOJ made the ultimate decision that Buck met the criteria for parole. On Sept. 4, 2009, U.S. Chief Probation officer Eileen Kelly wrote to Buck s case manager that officials had visited Elijah s apartment in New York and deemed it a suitable location for Buck to live post-release. After discovering in early summer 2010 that Buck had cancer and her life expectancy was less than three months, Holder s officials released her even earlier, on July 15, She died of cancer less than a month after her July 2010 release. Former DOJ Civil Rights division official J. Christian Adams, a legal expert and critic of Holder s handling of cases similar to this like the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case, told The Daily Caller nobody will ever know if Buck s views ever changed because there s no substantial evidence of the claims. Besides what she and her attorneys told parole officers, everything she wrote shows that she thought the same way. Adams questions the Obama administration s willingness to believe Buck and Elijah, too, seeing as they re both radically left-wing. Amazingly, the DOJ took Elijah seriously despite her being an advocate for Fidel Castro, Adams said in an . Elijah is a notorious far left pro-criminal activist despite her position at Harvard. In previous administrations, Elijah s views would have been afforded no weight. But in the Eric Holder Justice Department, crackpots like Elijah seem to have the power to release black panther terrorists. Another thing Adams points to with Elijah s letters is that they re written on Harvard letterhead. One of President Obama s law school professors, Harvard Director Emeritus Charles Ogletree, appears on the letterhead. Adams said Ogletree has lots of pull with the president. The letters from Harvard with Charles Ogletree in the letterhead are telling, Adams said. Ogletree is a personal friend of President Obama and having his name on a letter seeking Buck s release is like sending Buck the keys to open her jail cell. Holder s DOJ officials admitted Buck was considered a domestic terrorist that participated in violent crimes while part of several radical /anit-government [sic] 3

organizations including the Eldridge Cleaver faction of the Black Panther Party, The Family black revolutionary movement, Revolutionary Fighting Group, Armed Resistance Movement and Red Guerilla Resistance. The beginning of the DOJ s U.S. Parole Commission report recommending her early release also notes Buck helped those groups commit armed truck robberies, bank robberies and bombings throughout the US in the 70s and 80s and that, on 11/7/1983 she [Buck] was involved in the bombing of the US Capitol. When Buck helped bomb the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., she was on escape from federal custody, meaning she had broken out of prison before that crime. Buck also helped convicted cop-killer Joanne Chesimard, also known as Assata Shakur, break out of prison in She was serving an 80-year sentence, and her full sentence would have kept her incarcerated until Jan. 31, The prisoner testified that she acknowledges that she was on off track on her previous views of violence, reads part of one document citing Buck s statement to parole officers. She understands now that the end can never justify the means. She has sorrow and remorse for her actions. Victim advocate Tina Trent argues that, in the public arena, there s no substantial proof whatsoever showing Buck learned her lesson, changed her views or showed remorse other than what she told U.S. Parole Commission officials in the Bush and Obama administrations. Trent points to what Buck wrote while incarcerated as the only real evidence of whether or not she changed. Marilyn Buck, whose writing seethed with hatred towards white Americans, who planted bombs, staged jailbreaks, participated in the murder of policemen, and showed no remorse for any of her actions, transformed herself from a terrorist into an AIDS educator, literacy teacher and celebrated poet, largely by expressing her alleged victimization at the hands of a corrections system that was, in reality, protecting the public from her, Trent wrote in a 20-plus page report on this topic, adding that, her publications from 2003 until her death contain no evidence of remorse and no acknowledgement of responsibility for murder. Trent said Buck s writings show she continued to have the same political beliefs, regardless of what she told the U.S. Parole Commission. 4

On Sept. 11, 2001, for example, Buck wrote a poem on her perceptions of the al Qaeda terrorist attacks and what she expected to happen next. After asking in her Sept. 11 poem, do chickens come home to roost? Buck wrote that she, a political prisoner can conceive why the terrorists attacked the United States, qualifying that with a line, but comprehension is not complicity. An excerpt from Buck s Sept. 11 poem on what she expected to happen next: a Muslim sister whispers they will blame the Muslims) I know many will feed the eagle the Palestinians? (Palestinians are always suspect) Muslims? Arabs? many will die red upon the land I can t comprehend men who commit suicide taking civilians with them (a u.s. postal worker Columbine high school boys a man at McDonalds all-american suicide killers) civilians used as warheads I shudder and walk away from death to my cell 5

Joseph Connor Trent also said Buck s continued claims that she was a political prisoner show she never learned her lesson. Buck wrote for the socialist Monthly Review in 2004 about how, prison has always been the final gate in the repressive apparatus of a state. Buck said the prisoner is, with few exceptions, always a scapegoat and considered a deviant and called prison a class weapon and a way to control alien populations. In the United States, these alien populations are formerly colonized peoples former slaves, Native Americans, Latin Americans, Asians, and Pacific Islanders and they have all too often been considered the internal enemy, Buck wrote. They are the people most needing control and are therefore the majority of those locked down in U.S. prisons. Kincaid said these kinds of writings show Buck never had any remorse or regret for her terrorist record. He worries what kind of impact Buck s victory will have in the long run in the eyes of other socialist and radical left-wing movements. Buck s release served as a rallying point for the terrorist networks that include Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, Kincaid said. 6

Former FBI agent Rick Hahn d from America's Survival, Inc. - AG criticized for 'terrorist' paroles WASHINGTON -- U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder "has lied about his role in granting pardons to terrorists" under Presidents Clinton and Obama and should be removed from office, according to Cliff Kincaid, president of America's Survival Inc. Kincaid moderated a daylong conference on Tuesday at the National Press Club, sponsored by his Washington-based investigative organization. Speakers included Richard Hahn, an FBI agent who led numerous terrorism investigations before retiring in 1999; Humberto Fontova, an author whose family fled Cuba in 1961; Joseph Connor, whose father died in a 1975 New York City bombing by Puerto Rican terrorists; and Larry Grathwohl, who infiltrated the radical Weather Underground in the 1960s for police and the FBI. 7

In 1999, Holder, then a deputy attorney general, pushed to pardon 14 federal prisoners who belonged to a Puerto Rican terror group, the FALN, Kincaid and Connor said. The FALN exploded more than 100 bombs in the United States during the 1970s. The 14 prisoners, convicted in the 1980s on conspiracy and bomb-making charges, were sentenced to up to 85 years in prison. Two others refused to accept paroles. FBI and federal prison officials, two U.S. attorneys, the Fraternal Order of Police and at least one Justice Department official opposed the paroles. In 2009, as the Senate considered his nomination as attorney general, Holder said those paroled "were not directly involved in incidents that led to death or injuries." Hahn, the former FBI agent, said Holder "could not possibly know" that, because the parolees were not charged in any fatal bombings despite evidence of complicity. Kincaid blamed Holder's Justice Department for the 2010 paroles of Carlos Torres, a FALN co-founder, and Marilyn Buck, a Weather Underground and Black Liberation Army member. Buck -- convicted in the mid-'80s of various crimes, including a 1981 robbery that killed a security guard and two policemen -- died soon after her release. "Freedom for terrorists seems to be a policy started under Clinton and continued under Obama... and they both have one thing in common -- Eric Holder," Kincaid said. He and Grathwohl accused Holder of trying to halt an investigation into a deadly 1970 bombing in San Francisco. Both have long accused Weather Underground leaders William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn of complicity in that attack, although neither was ever charged in the case. The couple, who now live in Chicago, have been involved in President Obama's political campaigns, and Obama has acknowledged their friendship. "In addition to prosecuting Ayers and Dohrn, there is an obligation to pursue the terrorist fugitives... here and in places like Cuba," Kincaid said. He accused the Obama White House of trying to loosen Cuban travel and trade restrictions even as the communist-ruled island nation "continues to wage war on the United States." He and Fontova said Cuban intelligence agents actively operate here while political dissidents in Cuba are "being beaten up, tortured and killed" by the Castro regime 8

Holder Called to Resign; Traitors, Spies, Terrorists Exposed TUESDAY, 05 JULY :00 JAMES SIMPSON Cliff Kincaid of America s Survival sponsored another incredible forum, June 28, 2011, at the National Press Club. The forum discussed communists, terrorists and Cuban agents of influence working within our borders, and demanded the removal of Attorney General Eric Holder. Kincaid s panel fell short of calling Holder an outright traitor, but conference attendees would have a difficult time concluding otherwise, given the wealth of detail presented on Holder s assistance to convicted terrorists both within our jails and in other countries beyond the reach of U.S. law enforcement. As usual, information provided by the conferees and documents made available are encyclopedic. Topics included: Newly released FBI file on Ayers and Dohrn pal, the traitor Marilyn Buck, who gained early release due to intervention by Holder s Justice Department Why Robert Kennedy s killer, Sirhan Sirhan, was a hero for Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and what they said when Kincaid confronted them about it What Kennedy s son, Chris, has to say about Ayers and Dohrn s admiration for his father s killer In-Depth report documenting Attorney General Eric Holder s record of corruption Documents proving that under Bill Clinton, Deputy AG Eric Holder aggressively sought the release of Puerto Rican terrorists in U.S. custody virtually from the day he took office until their sentences were commuted in 1999 and lied about it Moving testimony from the son of FALN terrorism victim The true extent of Holder s relationship with fugitive Marc Rich, pardoned by Clinton at Holder s request, including job promises from Rich s lawyer Virtually unknown mass terror plots attempted out by Castro s Cuban agents in U.S. Unflattering facts that reveal a Che Guevara unknown to media and Hollywood Identification of Cuban agents-of-influence within our government and media 9

Just-released FBI records confirming former CIA agent Phillip Agee to be a traitor under control of Cuban intelligence A report on Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn s Weather Underground bomb factory An update on efforts to expose newly-confirmed SECDEF Leon Panetta s ties to American communists and his provision of sensitive documents to a Soviet agent And much more. One participant we didn t miss this time around was Russia Today TV, which videoed the April 2011 Stop Al-Jazeera Seminar. We think it may have gotten a little too hot for them. Daily Caller had a great article about it Friday. It is a fair guess however, that the big media will take a pass. While the media never seem overly interested in learning the truth about our enemies, in this particular case it may be because media figures feature prominently in the list of Americans identified at the conference as aiding and abetting our enemies through propaganda and misinformation. As usual, an impressive lineup of panelists was featured, including, Richard Hahn, a decorated career FBI agent and terrorism expert, domestic terrorism victim Joseph F. Connor, whose father was murdered by the Puerto Rican FALN, Cuban born Humberto Fontova, well-known columnist and author of Fidel, Hollywood s Favorite Tyrant, and Larry Grathwohl, the FBI s only undercover operative to successfully penetrate Bill Ayers Weather Underground. Why Eric Holder Must Resign Kincaid led off the conference with a call for Eric Holder s resignation: Conference Attendees L to R: Kincaid, Connor, Fontova 10

We are here to demand that the corrupt Attorney General Eric Holder be removed from office. Holder lied about his role in granting pardons to terrorists under Clinton. Rick Hahn and Joe Connor will talk about this. We have also released, for the first time, a comprehensive report on the corrupt record of Eric Holder, written by investigative journalist Ron Kolb... In addition to the granting of pardons or clemency to terrorists from the FALN and the Weather Underground, which Holder must answer for, the Obama/Holder Administration must be held accountable for the release from prison last year of Carlos Torres, the FALN co-founder, after serving 30 years of a 78 year sentence. Equally offensive, Weather Underground and Black Liberation Army terrorist Marilyn Buck, a convicted cop-killer, was released. We are revealing details of this for the first time here, through materials gathered through the Freedom of Information Act From pardoning terrorists to dropping clear-cut cases of voter intimidation, from suing sheriffs doing their job to robbing states of their right to enforce law, Eric Holder s Justice Department is already set to go down as one of the worst, if not the worst, in history. Fraunces Tavern blast 11

As we all know, or should know, under Bill Clinton, Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder was largely responsible for obtaining pardons for 16 terrorists from the groups Fuerzas Armadas de Liberacion Nacional Puertorriqueno (FALN) and Los Macheteros (Machete Wielders) serving life sentences. During their reign of terror in the 1970s and 1980s, the FALN was responsible for six murders and scores of injuries in over 130 bombings. The Macheteros collaborated with them and enjoyed some notoriety of their own, having killed three U.S. servicemen and wounding 12 in two separate attacks. Both organizations are still in operation under a new name. Holder obtained these pardons over the vehement objections of career Justice Department officials, federal, state and local law enforcement. He didn t even ask the victims. He was also instrumental in Clinton s pardon of Bill Ayers Weather Underground terrorist buddies, Susan Rosenberg and Linda Evans, and corrupt billionaire Marc Rich indicted for the largest tax fraud case in history. As Attorney General for President Obama, he commuted the sentence of Weather Underground/Black Liberation Army member, Marilyn Buck, as well as seeing to the early release of Carlos Torres, the last FALN member still in jail. Joseph Connor with photos of his family, including his father, who was murdered by the FALN in the Fraunces Tavern bomb blast. 12

When questioned by the U.S. Senate about the FALN terrorists release, Holder claimed to know little about the group, but told Senators that he knew enough to recommend their pardon anyway. As Kolb s report reveals, however, Holder knew a lot. In fact it is not a stretch to say that He was literally obsessed with the release of the FALN and Weather Underground prisoners. Upon taking the job as Clinton s Deputy AG in 1997, Holder immediately began exploring ways to release the FALN terrorists. He relieved the sitting pardon attorney, Margaret Colgate Love, who had written a report in 1996 arguing against clemency, and replaced her with his former assistant, Roger Adams. Adams refused to change Love s recommendations, until Holder came up with the idea to issue an options report that made no recommendation. Even his boss, Janet Reno had warned about releasing the FALN terrorists. Incredibly, Holder insisted that Reno wasn t referring to those particular FALN terrorists. Holder met with the terrorists advocates many, many times, but never met with victims, families, prosecutors or police involved in the case. Holder also had a very poor memory when questioned about the Marc Rich pardons, claiming he knew little about Rich or the case. The fact is that as U.S. Attorney for Washington, DC in 1995, Holder had brokered a settlement with one of Rich s firms so they could continue to receive government contracts, despite the principal being on the run for tax evasion. Victim of FALN bomb blast 13

Rich s attorney, a well-connected Democrat with ties to Al Gore, contacted Holder in 1999 to discuss a pardon and they talked for 18 months. He baited Holder with promise of the AG position in a Gore administration and agreed to help secure two jobs for Holder assistants in the waning days of the Clinton administration. Rick Hahn added more detail to Kolb s report. A veteran FBI agent with thirty-two years of experience, Hahn was Senior Supervisory Agent of the FBI s Long Beach, CA office before retiring in He specialized in investigations of domestic and international terrorist organizations and received the Attorney General s Distinguished Service Award for his work in counter-terrorism. Former FBI agent Rick Hahn Hahn provided an in-depth history of the FALN and described in detail the series of events leading to their release. He also revealed ties between the FALN and Ayers and Dohrn s Weather Underground pals. Perhaps this is what motivated Obama to release FALN co-founder, Carlos Torres, one of the last remaining FALN members in jail. Hahn s description provides further backing to Kolb s contention that Holder was willing to do whatever he could to get these people released. In summary: A group called Ofensiva 92 began petitioning the attorney general for release of FALN terrorists 2. Under Justice guidelines, to be considered for clemency, a person must make the request him/herself. 3. Justice informed Ofensiva 92 of the required procedure. 4. FALN members refused to make the request. 5. Ofensiva 92 obtained the support of Congressional leftists Justice ignored its own rules and initiated review of clemency for the FALN pardon attorney Margaret Love forwarded recommendation against clemency. 8. July Holder replaced outgoing Deputy AG Jamie Gorelick 9. July Pardon attorney Love asked to submit information on FALN clemency. A back and forth dialog continued into September. 10. Love was removed from the pardon attorney position shortly thereafter and left the Justice Department permanently in early November.[1] 11. Love was then replaced by Holder assistant Roger Adams. 12. Adams drafted recommendations not to grant clemency, as Love had done. 13. Holder rejected. 14. Adams drafted a recommendation to grant clemency to only some of the terrorists. 15. Holder rejected. 16. White House interagency working group on Puerto Rico included a female friend of the jailed terrorists, who claimed They are truly good people who are where they are for wanting their country to be free. That is not a crime. 17. The rationalization for release was ultimately framed around this woman s arguments 14

18. July 99. Following more rejections from Holder, Adams drafts options letter to president without required recommendation 19. Holder forwarded options to Clinton on July 8, 1999 (Holder later admitted recommending release although it was not listed in the options. ) 20. That same day, Hillary Clinton announced she was forming an exploratory committee to consider a run for the U.S. Senate 21. A month later, two days after Congress had adjourned for the rest of the summer, Clinton announced he would commute the sentences of 16 jailed FALN and Macheteros members Hahn also found a connection between the FALN and Bill Ayers Weather Underground: The 1981 investigation of a robbery of a Brink s armored car in New York led to identification of Kathy Boudin, (Kathy s son, Chesa, was adopted by Ayers and Dohrn when Kathy went to jail), Judy Clark and David Gilbert, all members of the Weather Underground Organization (Weathermen) and others including several black terrorists who formed a group called The Family. They were found to be in possession of explosive paraphernalia stolen in the same theft as dynamite used in FALN bombs in Further, one member of The Family was found to have an exact carbon copy of a FALN communiqué issued in Members of The Family who cooperated advised authorities that they had engineered the escape of Black Liberation Army member Joanne Chesimard and that of FALN member William Morales. Inside Fraunces Tavern after the blast 15

In his concluding remarks, Hahn stated that Eric Holder: was instrumental in effecting the release from prison of a number of convicted terrorists not activists or mere nationalists, but real, violent terrorists who were part of a conspiracy that engaged in intimidation and murder. He did so by negating the findings of other professionals, by violating the standard practices of the Department of Justice, and by pressuring those who worked for him. He did these things without really knowing the facts, as he has admitted in the record, and in defending his actions he cited things that were factually incorrect. That is why, in my view, Eric Holder should never have occupied the post of Attorney General, and should be banished from government forever. Consequences of the FALN s terror campaign were brought close to home with a moving presentation by Joseph Connor, whose father was killed in one of their bomb attacks. Connor has testified before the Senate Subcommittee on Foreign Relations (Clinton s clemency grant to 16 FALN terrorists) in 1999, the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2009 (Eric Holder confirmation hearings) and introduced The Pardon Attorney Reform and Integrity Act to Congress in 2000.Connor also led the successful 2011 effort to deny parole to FALN leader Oscar Lopez. In Senate testimony opposing the nomination of Eric Holder to be Attorney General for President Obama, Connor stated: Putting aside his well-documented involvement in the outrageous pardon of Marc Rich, his involvement with Chiquita Brands and Elian Gonzalez, the Attorney General nominee's reported egregious support for unleashing unrepentant terrorists on the American people against the advice of the FBI, Bureau of Prisons, prosecutors and even Janet Reno herself, should disqualify him on its own. Incredibly, we revisit today the same recriminations of the September 1999 hearings; who had a hand in the clemency grants and why? How sad that we have to go through this again. We knew the clemencies were wrong then. The Senate, in 1999, condemned the offers by a 95-2 vote. Yet here we are contemplating the confirmation of the architect of terrorists' release as the top law enforcement officer in the land! In a post 9/11 world, how can this be? These terrorists took away my father's life; never allowing him to see his sons play sports in high school, never allowing him the pride in seeing his boys graduate high school and college, or meet his daughters in law. They took from him the joy of being father and a grandfather. They took from my mother the promise of growing old with her first love. His grandchildren will never know their grandfather. They look at pictures and listen to stories. 16

But, when they ask why he was killed and why those claiming responsibility were released, what answer can we give? What answer indeed? Connors reminds us that the terrorists never asked for clemency and had to be convinced to issue a statement condemning violence. Two never did. Finally, he added that while Holder met with representatives of the terrorists at least nine times, he never contacted any of the victims families. FALN leader William Morales is being protected by the Castro regime Connor added another detail as well. One of the terrorists released in 1999 was Alejandrina Torres, mother of co-founder Carlos Torres. Following her release, Torres received an award from the United Church of Christ the same denomination as Obama s beloved Jeremiah Wright. Larry Grathwohl at podium. 17

The only FBI undercover operative to successfully penetrate the Weather Underground, Larry has testified before the U.S. Senate, been interviewed countless times on television and radio, including The O Reilly Factor, and wrote a book about his experiences: Bringing America Down An FBI Informer with the Weathermen, soon to be available in reprint. His 1982 interview, where he described Bill Ayers plan to murder 25 million Americans, went viral during the run up to the 2008 elections. Larry has been fighting a one-man battle against Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn and the whole sordid Weather Underground crew his entire life. He travels to hear them speak at various colleges around the country. He confronts them at every opportunity about their role in terrorist bombings, in particular the 1970 San Francisco Police Park Station bombing which caused the death of Sgt. Brian V. McDonnell. A decorated 101 st Airborne Vietnam combat Veteran, Larry lives on a meager retirement and does this all on his own dime, strictly to see that justice is eventually done. You can donate to his cause here. Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn have long contended that they just blew up buildings; no one was hurt, so let s just forget the whole thing. But Larry has repeatedly testified that Bernardine Dohrn set the bomb that killed Sgt. McDonnell and Ayers told him so. Furthermore, materials found at a San Francisco Weather Underground bomb factory prove conclusively if any more proof were needed that the Weathermen were out to kill. Complete documentation of the wealth of evidence against Ayers and Dohrn, including Grathwohl s Senate testimony, can be viewed here. In 1999 the government created the Phoenix Task Force. Comprised of FBI, California Bureau of Investigation, San Francisco Police, District Attorneys, US Attorneys and the California Attorney General, it sought to solve the Park Station bombing case and other unsolved terrorism cases from that era. It appeared that the case against Ayers and Dohrn might be moving forward. Yet with Eric Holder at the helm, the U.S. Attorneys and FBI have lost enthusiasm for the case. The Task Force has been stripped to a skeleton crew, and according to Grathwohl, is being allowed to slowly die. One certainly can t prove the case is dying because two of the main suspects, Ayers and Dohrn just happen to be BFFs of the President of the United States. But shortly after Kincaid s March 2009 Press Club Conference, which focused primarily on the Park Station bombing and the Weather Underground s complicity, the Justice Department issued an unprecedented demand that the San Francisco Police Officers Association stop talking about the case. So for now at least, Obama s terrorist buddies Ayers and Dohrn get a reprieve courtesy the good offices of Attorney General Eric Holder, the man who has added a whole new dimension to the word In-Justice. Last but not least was Humberto Fontova 18

Humberto Fontova Fontova is familiar to many online conservatives as a prolific, knowledgeable and entertaining writer for American Thinker, Big Peace, Big Journalism, WorldNetDaily and many others. He has also authored a number of books, most notably, Fidel, Hollywood s Favorite Tyrant, and Exposing the Real Che Guevera. He was born in Havana, Cuba and escaped with his family in 1961 at the age of seven. His father was captured and sent to La Cabana prison, firing squad central, where 2100 men and boys were murdered. He was fortunately released after three months and joined his family in New Orleans, where Humberto grew up. Fontova focused on the myth versus the reality of communist Cuba and the leftist icons Castro and Che. He revealed just how badly Kennedy screwed up both the Cuban missile crisis and the Bay of Pigs invasion. Most people are unaware, for example, that at the time of the missile crisis, our advantage in nuclear missiles was 6,000 to 300. A nuclear exchange was the last thing Soviet leader Khrushchev wanted. In fact, Fontova argues, Khrushchev may have already decided to remove the missiles before the crisis, because he was afraid of what the Cubans might do with those in their possession. He had received a breathless series of telegrams informing him that the Cubans feared an imminent attack and wanted to launch an overwhelming nuclear first strike.[2] Khrushchev said, It would have been ridiculous for us to go to war over Cuba For us war was unthinkable. We ended up getting exactly what we wanted. [3] Then Attorney General Bobby Kennedy acknowledged this by asking Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin to keep the agreement quiet, saying, We can t say anything public about this agreement. It would be too much of a political embarrassment for us. [4] 19

Kincaid identifies Julia Sweig of the Council on Foreign Relations as an agent of influence for Castro, based on information supplied by Fontova and other sources. The Russians got American missiles removed from Turkey and a guarantee that America would never again attempt to overthrow Castro giving Castro a free hand to wreak havoc throughout Central and South America, as he has since done. In fact, according to Fontova, America has been Castro s greatest protector, part of the deal being to ensure that no other regional force compromises Castro s security.[5] We ve been had, said Navy Chief of Staff George Anderson. The biggest defeat in our nation s history, said Air Force Chief of Staff Curtis Lemay. We locked Castro and Communism into Latin America and threw away the key to their removal, said Barry Goldwater. Democrat Dean Acheson said: This nation lacks leadership. The meetings were repetitive and without direction. Most members of Kennedy s team had no military or diplomatic experience whatsoever 20

Joint Chiefs of Staff General Maxwell Taylor later admitted Never did I have even the slightest preoccupation that their existed even the slightest possibility that nuclear war could result from that confrontation. [6] Another great thing about these conferences is all the free stuff you get. In addition to the documents cited here and more, all recipients received a free DVD of Cliff s Al- Jazeera In America conference, and another titled Che, the Other Side of an Icon. Cliff s son has done a yeoman s job of compiling a list of truths everyone should know about this widely misunderstood monster. Fontova put more flesh on this analysis by revealing that Che was not only a cowardly sadist, but a fantastically incompetent leader, whose forces suffered overwhelming losses anytime they faced any organized opposition. He recounted one story from the Bay of Pigs fiasco. According to Fontova, the CIA created a diversion by lighting a slew of fireworks on a barge and floating it into a bay far from the true invasion point. The brilliant Che saw right through the ruse and realized that this was the main invasion. Safely away from the real battle, Che and his men enjoyed a night of fireworks on the bay, while miles away 1,500 Cuban volunteers slogged it out in a life-or-death battle with Cuban forces. The history books portray the Bay of Pigs invasion as a fiasco of incompetents who bumbled a bad idea. It was a fiasco, but largely because President Kennedy betrayed these men. As Fontova relates: Alas, politics prevailed again that night in April 61. JFK refused to help the freedom fighters. The election was over, you see. Can t continue, crackled the final message from San Roman a day later. For three days his force of mostly volunteer civilians had battled savagely against a Soviet-trained and led force 10 times their size, inflicting casualties of 20 to 1. To this day their feat of arms amazes professional military men. Morale will do that to a fighting force. And there s no morale booster like watching Fidel Castro and Che Guevara ravage your homeland and families, believe me. But without promised air cover, reinforcements and supplies, the end was inevitable: Ammo finally ran out. Russian tanks overrunning my position, San Roman on his radio again, destroying my equipment How can you people do this to us? Finally the radio went dead. Tears filled my eyes, writes CIA man Grayston Lynch, a multi-decorated WWII and Korea vet who took that final message. I broke down completely. For the first time in my 37 years I was ashamed of my country. 21

Unlike Michelle Obama, who said she was proud of her country for the first time when Obama was nominated, Lynch had genuine reason to be ashamed. Defeat for the Cubans came at the hand of John F. Kennedy, and we have been paying for it ever since. Fontova also described a New York City bomb plot Cuba attempted shortly after the Bay of Pigs that likely would have dwarfed the 9-11 attack in size and scope. Bombers planned their attack for the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, the busiest retail day of the year. They targeted Gimbel s, Bloomingdales, Macy s and other stores, as well as the New York City subway system with incendiary devices and over a ton of TNT. Two members of the conspiracy also belonged to the Fair Play for Cuba Committee. The group was early on identified by the FBI as a Castro-funded front group. Later members included Lee Harvey Oswald, CBS Correspondent Robert Taber, filmmaker Saul Landau, and Nation co-founder Alan Sagner. Sagner was appointed head of PBS by Bill Clinton in 1996.[7] Fontova identified other reporters whose blatant pro-cuba bias marks them as defacto agents of influence. During the Elian Gonzales ordeal, Elian s father, Juan Miguel, was overjoyed that Elian had made it to America and had already applied for a visa to visit the U.S. and hopefully join his son. Elian s mother had drowned in the Florida Straits in their bid to escape Cuba. But that is not the story told by the media. An unhappy Juan Miguel instead came to take his son back. Juan had helpers in the form of a gang of thugs who shadowed him every minute. While CBS filmed their reunion, with Dan Rather presiding, the cameras carefully kept the thugs surrounding Juan Miguel off camera. Rather said nothing. Eric Holder was also instrumental in this awful crime. Fontova recalls an interview between Holder and Fox News Judge Andrew Napolitano: Napolitano: Tell me, Mr. Holder, why did you not get a court order authorizing you to go in and get the boy (Elian Gonzalez)? Holder: Because we didn t need a court order. INS can do this on its own. Napolitano: You know that a court order would have given you the cloak of respectability to have seized the boy. Holder: We didn t need an order. Napolitano: Then why did you ask the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals for such an order if you didn t need one? Holder: [Silence] Napolitano: The fact is, for the first time in history you have taken a child from his residence at gunpoint to enforce your custody position, even 22

though you did not have an order authorizing it. When is the last time a boy, a child, was taken at the point of a gun without an order of a judge Unprecedented in American history. Holder: He was not taken at the point of a gun. Napolitano: We have a photograph showing he was taken at the point of a gun. Holder: They were armed agents who went in there who acted very sensitively Finally, Fontova discussed the spy case of DIA Director Ana Montes, which he characterized as one of the most damaging in U.S. history. He also noted Montes close association with Fulton Armstrong, currently a senior staff member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee chaired by Senator John Kerry (D-MA). An article by Ken Timmerman, More Cuban Spies Lurking in the US, mentions Armstrong in discussing a book by the chief investigator in the Montes case, Scott Carmichael: "The Cuban government has eyes and ears everywhere," [Carmichael] told an audience at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington. "If it was that easy to recruit Ana Montes, then we have to assume they have recruited others " Ana Montes was "on a first name basis" with [then] National Intelligence Officer for Latin America, Fulton Armstrong," Carmichael and others said. Montes and Armstrong continued to confide by phone even as Carmichael and his investigative team were closing the noose around Ana Montes. Amazingly, Montes jaundiced reports, memos and studies have not been pulled, as is the usual procedure, and continue to be used as legitimate foreign policy positions. Why? "I wouldn't be surprised if Fulton Armstrong had something to do with Ana's products not being pulled," said Norman Bailey, who until March 2007 was the Issue Manager for Cuba/Venezuela in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Armstrong was a vigorous supporter of Castro within the intelligence community, Bailey, Carmichael and [Montes case investigator] Crespo said. Former Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Roger Noriega, added that Fulton Armstrong's "advocacy" on behalf of Castro was so astonishing that Noriega banned him from his office. Armstrong s impact on Cuba policy is still in evidence. Kerry recently voted to nix a tiny ($20 million) aid package for a nascent Cuban democracy movement. The American 23

contractor Alan Gross, recently convicted by Cuban authorities, was helping this group. Even the Left-wing Huffington Post noted with derision: Why is Senator Kerry so hostile to the concept of "regime change" in Cuba, but not in North Africa and the Middle East? How can he support financing the violent overthrow of the Gaddafi regime by armed Libyan rebels, but not the distribution of laptops and books for Cuba's opposition movement, which only advocates a peaceful transition to democracy? As the well-known Washington maxim goes -- "personnel is policy." And in the case of Senator Kerry, the answer can be found in his senior advisor for Latin America, Fulton Armstrong. Is Fulton Armstrong an agent of influence for the Castro government? We know one thing for sure: Attorney General Eric Holder will never ask. Fontova left us with a quote from Castro, Propaganda is the heart of our struggle. The conference packet included a booklet titled Agents of Influence for Castro s Cuba. In it they identify: Julia Sweig Council on Foreign Relations Jean-Guy Allard Canadian journalist retired to Cuba. Writes for GRANMA. Lisandro Perez Sociology professor at Florida International University Silvia Wilhelm Executive Director, Cuban Committee for Democracy Dr. Alberto Coll Accepted a plea agreement in Currently Director of European and Latin American Legal Studies and Director of International Law at DePaul University. It is impossible to catalog everything, but by going to the America s Survival website, you can find all relevant documents and much more. In his closing remarks, Mr. Kincaid took the unprecedented step of asking for donations to the cause. These events, from the great luncheon, to the book and DVD giveaways, are entirely free to participants; the cost to Cliff and his tiny organization, 24

about $20,000 per event. Like most of us battling the Soros-and-taxpayer-funded minions of the Left and their ill-gotten billions, America s Survival operates on a shoestring budget. Cliff s personal knowledge, and the people he supports and spotlights through these events, is priceless information of which all patriotic Americans should be aware. 26 June 30, 2011 Eric Holder: unfit for his office, Congress needs to review the record By Wes Vernon The "I" word is something one is well-advised to use sparingly lest it be abused and over-used. Impeachment is a constitutional option that has during our nation's history been approached with super-caution. After all, officials at the very top echelons of our government either were elected or were nominated by an elected official (the president) or were appointed by the duly elected head of state. Unprecedented The problem with trying to apply those rules of caution in 2011 is that the Obama administration's barely concealed contempt for Americans has resulted in multiple appointments of individuals who have trafficked with, shown an affinity for, or coddled criminals, terrorists, and traitors. Eric Holder, case in point Let's start with the fact that Attorney General Eric Holder's "Justice" Department is investigating CIA interrogators who questioned terrorist suspects post-9/11. These people had been cleared of any wrongdoing. But that's not good enough for Holder, even though the interrogations were part of a pattern that ultimately led to the capture of Osama Bin Laden. That he would launch this second-guessing witch hunt betrays a sixties radical's continued contempt for "the system," in Holder's case, long after his Columbia University days when he supported the violent, racist, anti-semitic black supremacist Malcolm X. More than that Article 2, Section 4, of the Constitution states, "The President, the vice President, and all civil officers of the United States shall be removed from office on impeachment for and conviction of treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors." As we review the record, and you decide if it is legitimate to hold the attorney general accountable under the Constitution. Eric Holder both as Deputy Attorney General under President Clinton and Attorney General under President Obama has gone out of his way to facilitate pardons for jailed terrorists, avowed enemies of the United States, and a fugitive from justice with deep pockets. Furthermore, he has been credibly accused of lying under oath at his confirmation hearing. 26

Fragments and objects removed from body of a victim Jailed terrorists Former FBI Agent Richard S. Hahn (with the agency for 32 years) was repeatedly frustrated by Holder's successful push to spring from prison Puerto Rican terrorists whose clemency was denied by his predecessor and the attorneys in the department who had thoroughly and thoughtfully reviewed their cases. At a Washington conference this week of America's Survival, Inc, Hahn delivered a prepared 13-page, single-spaced speech in which he concluded that as Deputy 27

Attorney General under Clinton, Eric Holder "was instrumental in effecting the release from prison of a number of convicted terrorists not 'activists' or mere 'nationalists,' but real, violent terrorists who were part of a conspiracy that engaged in intimidation and murder." This just happened to be around the time Hillary Clinton was running for the Senate while seeking the Puerto Rican vote in New York. We have to understand that to these people, nobody is simply an American or a human being. Rather, everyone is seen through the lens of the cheap politics of ethnic identity. Victim of FALN bomb blast In this, the Puerto Rican terrorists had the active assistance of (1) the Weather Underground, whose violent terrorists William Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn launched Barack Obama's career in their living room, and (2) the Communist Cuban dictatorship of Fidel Castro (who aids and abets terrorist nations in pursuit of our destruction). 28

Still at it The Obama/Holder administration has not been held accountable for the release from prison last year of Carlos Torres, co-founder of the violent Puerto Rican FALN, after he had served only 30 years of a 78-year sentence. ASI President Cliff Kincaid revealed for the first time this week that through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), he had obtained evidence convicted cop killer Marilyn Buck had been released on Holder's AG watch. What is totally bizarre is that she appears to have been let out of her cage based on a poem she wrote while behind bars. In addition to her bad poetry, Buck reveals her lack of remorse for her crimes, which include bombing the U.S. Capitol, a robbery involving the murder of two policemen and a security guard, and the escape from prison of cop-killer Joanne Chesimard. The latter is now living in Cuba protected from American justice by Hollywood darling Fidel Castro. Case after case after case Some of the terrorists Kincaid mentioned Chesimard, William Morales, and Victor Gerena are hiding out in Cuba. If justice is to be done, the ASI president said, it will require the "effort and will of the U.S. government." In the Obama/Holder administration, those qualities are missing. Holder's record not only shows a lack of interest in pursuing justice, but indicates a focused deliberate effort to undermine it. His role in pardoning Weather Underground terrorists Linda Evans and Susan Rosenberg are examples, as is his role in the pardoning of fugitive tax evader and Clinton campaign moneybags Marc Rich. "Cold" Case four decades and counting This is the perfect time to revisit a 41-year-old murder case that was brought up again at ASI's conference and previously spotlighted in this space. (See this column March 23, 2009.) This involved a 1970 explosion at a police station in San Francisco that killed one officer and injured many others. The bomb was set to go off at shift change so as to kill/injure as many as possible. Larry Grathwohl formerly an undercover informant for the FBI told the ASI conference that under Holder's Justice Department, a task force assigned to investigate the case "is being allowed to slowly slip into oblivion." Not that the task force members have given up. It is just that their superiors have "made a conscious decision to allow the task force to go out of business." As we reported in 2009, Ayers and Dorn have been heavily implicated in the case. There is video of Kincaid trying to ask Dohrn about it, as she runs away from the questioner. 29

Yet another case Joseph F. Connor told the ASI gathering of his father who in 1975 was killed when he and 3 other men were murdered in Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan as they gathered for the lunch hour. As Joe Connor told ASI, "The Marxist terrorists of the FALN chose Fraunces Tavern to kill, in their words, 'reactionary corporate executives' but selected that venue for its symbolic value. It was where George Washington bid farewell to his Continental Army officers after their victory over tyranny in Frank Connor was killed by those who wanted to re-impose tyranny [two centuries later]." Joseph Connor added, "The vast majority of these Cuban-fueled Marxist punks were arrested, tried, convicted, and sentenced to appropriately long prison terms of between 55 and 85 years." While Congress was in recess in 1999, President Clinton with a powerful push from Eric Holder offered executive clemency to 16 of the terrorists. Joe Connor testified to no avail against Holder's elevation to be Obama's attorney general in 2009, as did others. During Mr. Holder's own testimony at that hearing, he made several statements that to put it charitably were "factually incorrect." To put it in plain English, the nation's top law enforcement officer has been called out by several ASI speakers as having lied under oath. And let us not forget the AG's temper tantrum when he failed in the attempt to try 9/11 terrorists in a civil court in New York City. Again, the question Back to Article 2, Section 4, of the U.S. Constitution: "The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for and conviction of treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors." Applying the lawyers' legalese and/or the rules of plain old fashioned common sense, does Eric Holder qualify as a candidate for that method of accountability? 30

The scene outside Fraunces Tavern after the FALN bomb blast 31

Unfit for office: Holder must go Saturday, July 2, 2011 Eric Holder's coddling of terrorists -- during both the Clinton and Obama administrations -- makes him manifestly unfit to be U.S. attorney general. At a National Press Club conference in Washington this week, Cliff Kincaid, president of America's Survival Inc., and speakers personally affected by terrorist beneficiaries of Mr. Holder's lax approach laid out his damning record. In 1999, as a deputy attorney general, Holder backed pardons for 14 convicted conspirators and bomb-makers from the Puerto Rican terror group FALN. During his 2009 confirmation hearings, the attorney general claimed he supported paroling them because they "were not directly involved" in injuries or deaths. In 2010, Holder's Justice Department paroled FALN co-founder Carlos Torres and Weather Underground and Black Liberation Army member Marilyn Buck, convicted in a 1981 robbery that killed a security guard and two policemen. Accusing Weather Underground leaders and Obama supporters and friends William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn of complicity in a fatal 1970 San Francisco bombing, Mr. Kincaid said Holder has tried to block investigation of that incident. And we've not even mentioned the mess he's made of the current fight against terrorists (or, for that matter, his dubious record on civil rights). Simply put, an attorney general who so coddles terrorists has no business holding that key position in America's war on terror. We've called for his resignation before and we reiterate that call today. 32
