7 NATIONAL TECHNICAL WORKING GROUPS (NTWG) HOW DOES IT WORK? THINK GLOBAL ACT LOCAL Running a NTWG means not only your signature but commitment, engagement and WORK! Take time for the actual technical work GLOBALG.A.P. Membership of the host organization NTWGs are open to all: Retailers /producers/ suppliers/cbs/ngos/ government Develop National Interpretation Guidelines for the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA Standard and for GRASP to facilitate local implementation The group shall meet at least twice a year. Keep the GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat updated about activities, meetings, new members, meeting minutes: communicate to central address ntwg(at)globalgap.org or upload them to the NTWG Extranet GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat Page 7
8 NATIONAL TECHNICAL WORKING GROUPS (NTWG) HOW DO I HOST A NTWG AND REGISTER AS NTWG MEMBER? Host organization needs to agree to and sign NTWG Terms of Reference (available for download here) or_rev10_formfill_en.pdf Hosting a NTWG requires a GLOBALG.A.P. membership. The NTWG host needs to be a paying GLOBALG.A.P. member each year. NEW: The NTWG host organization shall receive a 50% discount on the membership fee, or may choose to receive 72 redeemable GRIP points provided they fulfil some basic tasks set out in the TOR within one year Each new NTWG member needs to register via the online registration form and inform NTWG host: GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat Page 8
9 NTWG MAIN ACTIVITIES AND DUTIES BASIC TASKS FOR NTWG TO RECEIVE NTWG DISCOUNT 1. The NTWG shall provide assistance with translation/proofreading of the official GLOBALG.A.P. documents into the languages used in the country where the NTWG is based (where needed). 2. The host shall provide regularly updated information of name, company and addresses of all NTWG members to 3. The host organization shall organize a minimum of two meetings per year. 4. The host shall inform the GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat on a regular basis about relevant issues and provide minutes of meetings or upload them to the NTWG Extranet. Further tasks (not a condition for the discount, but also important) 5. Development of national interpretation guidelines (NIG) or GRASP Guidelines in national language and English. 6. Supporting the GLOBALG.A.P. Committees with proposals for revision of the protocols. 7. Participating in the peer review processes of benchmarking/recognition activities of schemes operating within their country, where so requested by GLOBALG.A.P. GLOBALG.A.P Secretariat Page 9
10 50 % HOST DISCOUNT ON MEMBERSHI P NEW CONDITIONS REVISED PROCEDURE FROM 2015 From 2015, based on the activity of the NTWG, the annual GLOBALG.A.P. membership fee of the host organization might be reduced by 50%, or the host may choose to receive 72 redeemable GRIP points valid for 18 months. The discount or points are not cumulative should more than one sector NTWG be hosted by the same organization. The NTWG discount or GRIP points will be rewarded at the beginning of the following year (no longer in advance with the membership invoice). The membership fee shall be paid in full and in the subsequent year and the discounted amount shall be refunded, subject to fulfillment of three of the main tasks set out in the Terms of Reference (see 3.) Written proof of tasks fulfilled will be requested at the end of each year by GLOBALG.A.P. GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat Page 10

Standard from local experts Possibility of membership in a Focus Groups (Technical Committees only for GG members) Opportunity to help producers in the country to get certification and increase GLOBALG.A.P. certified production in the area.
