Scope and Content: This collection contains documents from the prefect s office; the administration of the Voves camps, where most persons identified as Communists were sent, often transferred from other camps; the Chartres prison; and private families and notaries. Documents include a register of Jews interned at the Chartres prison (1055W); several collections in the J Series (from private sources); the papers of the family of the deported doctor Goldberg; and records concerning compensation made to victims of spoliation by the Vichy regime and the German occupying forces. 1
