2 Scope and Content: These records relate to the operations of the IRO and its predecessor organizations, the League of Nations High Commission for Refugees and the Intergovernmental Committee for Refugees. The files cover all aspects of the organization's work including the repatriation of deportees and refugees; the feeding and sheltering of refugees; the coordination of work with the ICRC and various European governments, NGOs, and military commands; and policy decisions on the treatment of refugees not wishing to return to countries of origin.
