Questions concerning the material below and requests for reproductions should be directed to the National Archives of Sweden. Ministry for Foreign Affairs Reference: RA/2210. Flyktkapitalbyrån Dates: (1940) Extent: 39 linear meters, 530 boxes Content: The board was founded in order to administrate the restitution of properties from occupied countries to their rightful owners, and to execute control over German and Japanese property in Sweden. Records contains detailed accounts of German properties in Sweden, applications for the restitution of properties. Restitution Board Reference: RA/2706. Restitutionsnämnden Dates: Extent: 3 linear meters, 44 boxes Content: The board was founded in order to try cases concerning the restitution of properties from occupied countries to their rightful owners. The decisions of the Restitution board was administrated by the Foreign Capital Control Office. The National Board of Aliens Reference: RA/ Statens utlänningskommission Dates of accumulation: Extent: Content: The Board was the central government agency for all matters concerning foreigners in Sweden, such as visas, working permits, and other forms of control. During the first period of its existence the board had to deal with the large streams of refugees coming to Sweden at the end of the war, and it had the responsibility for the refugee camps. Altogether c internees from concentration camps came to Sweden as a result of the rescue operations of the Swedish Red Cross (April-May 1945) and UNRRA (June-July 1945) During the first years the board was divided into divisions for passport matters, control, social matters, and a secretariate.
