27 The way forward Last month, during the official visit to Spain by Vietnam Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Pham Binh Minh, a Vietnam-Spain Business Forum was organized in Madrid with the participation of over 100 businessmen and enterprises of the two countries. The two sides exchanged opportunities for cooperation in a number of potential areas such as infrastructure, renewable energy, agro-processing, waste treatment, tourism, etc. These sectors are the ones that Spanish companies have many advantages and Vietnam are in the need of cooperation. The potential of bilateral economic cooperation is very big in coming years, especially when the FTA Vietnam-EU come into force (hopefully by 2018).
