1 February Executive Board 6:30 pm Meeting 7:15 Roxbury Senior Center, 72 Eyland Avenue, Succasunna NJ Judy and Mark Judith Leeds Charcoal Happy New Year and welcome back from our winter hiatus. Hope everyone had a nice holiday season and got to spend time with friends and family and maybe a little time with a pencil and paintbrush too! Our February 4th meeting will be a member critique so please bring in a piece or two of artwork to show the group. It can be a work in progress that needs a little problem solving or a completed piece. Our fellow artists will offer feedback, encouragement and a fresh set of eyes that will hopefully help us overcome any artistic obstacles that we ve been experiencing. Sometimes we just need someone else to say It s done, put down the brush! All in all, 2015 was a productive year for AAR, we had several great shows, many great demonstrations and speakers, and a few very nice parties. Thanks to our many volunteers things are running smoothly. There were a few sad notes with the passing of two of our founding members, June Fairweather and Barbara Lo Conti, and the news of Norm Voltz, who has macular degeneration and is now in St. Francis Assisted Living. Norm became a member in 1976 and dedicated a lot of time and energy to the club. In December the board voted to honor Norm with a lifetime membership and we sent him a framed certificate along with his member card and best wishes from all. As we go into 2016 I ve had some members express an interest in volunteering, the more the merrier! We still have some openings and always welcome help. We will be exploring new exhibit opportunities while continuing work on current projects.

2 Page 2 The Palette News February 2016 The artists showing their work from February 4th through March 3rd at the RoxPac Theater are Karen Tighe and Lisa Smith-Simpson. Karen will be our new coordinator for the gallery so if you'd like to exhibit please use the signup sheet available at our meetings or contact her to be put on the list. There are also slots available at the Roxbury Library exhibit space. Please contact Donna Kusama if you are interested. It s great to have these local venues to let the community know about us and all the wonderful artists in our club. Hopefully, there will be no storms in the forecast for February 4th, we ve been pretty lucky this year so far. Please check your phone messages and for updates just in case. Looking forward to a happy, healthy, and creative 2016!
