Staff continue to provide regular updates on the priority projects linked to the release of additional capacity, with the next report to be submitted in June, Staff continue discussions with the local municipalities with respect to infrastructure completion dates and various planning approvals. 3. The Regional Clerk forward this report to the Clerks of the municipalities of Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, East Gwillimbury, King and Whitchurch-Stouffville. 2. Mandated Regulatory Reporting To Council 2007 Drinking Water System Schedule 22 Summary Report 75 February 22, 2008, recommending that: 1. The Regional Clerk forward a copy of this report and attachment to the Clerks of the local municipalities. 3. Water Conservation Initiative Update 161 February 22, 2008, recommending that: 1. The Regional Clerk forward a copy of this report to the Clerks of the nine local municipalities.
3 Page 3 4. Replacement of Municipal Representative For Source Protection Committees As Required By The Clean Water Act 169 February 25, 2008, recommending that: 1. Regional Council appoint Neil Garbe as the Municipal representative for York Region and its constituent local municipalities on the Credit Valley, Toronto Region and Central Lake Ontario Region Source Protection Committee. 2. Regional Council appoint Erin Mahoney as the Municipal representative for York Region and its constituent local municipalities on the South Georgina Bay-Lake Simcoe Source Protection Committee. 3. The Regional Clerk forward a copy of this report to the Clerks of the nine local municipalities of the Region, the South Georgina Bay-Lake Simcoe Source Protection and the Credit Valley, Toronto Region and Central Lake Ontario Region Source Protection Authorities. 4. Regional Council request the nine local municipalities to endorse the appointment of Neil Garbe and Erin Mahoney as the applicable Municipal representatives on the Credit Valley, Toronto Region and Central Lake Ontario Region Source Protection Committee and the South Georgina Bay-Lake Simcoe Source Protection Committee. REPORTS SUBMITTED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES 5. Roadside Memorial Signage Program MADD Canada 173 February 25, 2008, recommending that: 1. Council endorse the roadside memorial signage program to allow the installation of roadside memorial signage on Regional roads. 2. The Regional Clerk forward this report to the Clerk of each local municipality and to the Chief of York Regional Police.
4 Page 4 6. Ninth Line Reconstruction and Widening Request For Contribution to Storm Sewer Costs Markham Stouffville Hospital Attached February 28, 2008, recommending that: 1. Regional Council authorize the contribution from the 2008 Roads Capital Budget of up to $310,000 to fund half (50%) of the Markham Stouffville Hospital s share of costs for the Ninth Line (Y.R. 69) storm sewer to be constructed as part of the Region s programmed Ninth Line (Y.R. 69) reconstruction between Rose Way and 407ETR. 2. Regional Council authorize a cost-sharing arrangement with The Town of Markham, Markham Stouffville Hospital, Ontario Limited, and any other necessary parties, in accordance with the costsharing principles attached to this report, and subject to the approval of Legal Services as to form and content. 3. The Regional Clerk forward this report to the Clerk of the Town of Markham. 7. Centralized Traffic Control System Software Maintenance Contract Award 183 February 21, 2008, recommending that: 1. Regional Council authorize retaining the consulting firm of Command Engineering to provide centralized traffic control system software maintenance services for a period of five years, at $37,500 per year (excluding taxes) and adjusted annually to reflect the consumer price index (CPI). 2. The Commissioner of Transportation Services be authorized to execute the contract, subject to the approval of Legal Services as to form and content. REPORT SUBMITTED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES AND COMMISSIONER OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES Greening Strategy Annual Report 187 February 21, 2008, recommending that: 1. It is recommended that the 2007 Greening Strategy Annual Report be received for information.

Regional Council grant authority to apply for approval to expropriate the following land required to construct a new watermain to connect to an existing watermain at Woodbine Avenue and Church Street in the Town of Georgina, and, to construct a forcemain connecting the pumping station on Joe Dales Drive to the Keswick water pollution control plant in the Town of Georgina, in The Regional Municipality of York. The Commissioner of Corporate Services be authorized to forward to the Chief Inquiry Officer, pursuant to the provisions of the Expropriations Act, any requests for hearing that may be received. 4. The Regional Council, as approving authority, approve of the expropriation of the lands described in paragraph 1, provided there is no hearing of necessity. 5. The Manager of Realty Services be authorized to execute and serve any notices required by the Expropriations Act. 6. Authority be granted for the introduction of the necessary bills in Council to give effect to the foregoing. 10. Compensation For Expropriation Mount Albert Road and Warden Avenue Project 8085, Town of East Gwillimbury Attached March 3, 2008, recommending that: 1. The Commissioner of Corporate Services be authorized to make the following offer on behalf of the Regional Corporation in accordance with the Expropriations Act for: a) the land required for improvements at the intersection of Mount Albert Road (YR 13) and Warden Avenue (YR 65), in the Town of East Gwillimbury.
