Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to ratify the hiring of Brigid Barrett, Middle School Counselor, from September 1, 2018 to September 28, 2018 at a prorated rate of $ per day based on Step 1 of the MA salary guide. 1

2 b. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to ratify the hiring of Michael McGlynn, S.T.E.A.M. Specialist, from September 1, 2018 to October 30, 2018 at a prorated rate of $ per day based on Step 1 of the BA salary guide. c. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to hire Jena Librizzi, Preschool Aide, effective September 26, 2018, on Step 1 of the salary guide at $18,152 for the school year. d. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to hire Allen Horan, Part Time Custodian at 50%, on Step 1 of the salary guide at $15, e. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to hire Kelci Allen, Taylor Walker, and Sylvia Harris as substitute teachers for the school year. f. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to hire Wayne Riffle, Crossing Guard, at $10 per hour for the school year. 2. Hire Date - a. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to ratify the hire date of Jessica Torcicollo, Middle School Counselor, from September 1, 2018 to September 17, b. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to ratify the hire date of Deepa McCabe, S.T.E.A.M. Specialist, from September 1, 2018 to October 30,

3 3. District Anti-Bullying Coordinator - Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to approve Lindsay Reed as the District Anti-Bullying Coordinator for the school year. 4. Anti-Bullying Specialist - Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to approve Mary Alvarado at the H. Ashton Marsh Elementary School and Jessica Torcicollo at the Emma C. Attales Middle School as Anti-Bullying Specialists for the school year. 5. District Substitutes - Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to approve the following Annual District Substitutes for the school year: Ivan Markov, Nurse John Murray 6. 4 J. CURRICULUM HIB Self Assessment Grades - Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to approve the following HIB Self Assessment Grades: H. Attales Middle Homebound Instruction - Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to approve the homebound instruction for student SID from September 6, 2018 through September 25, Homebound Instruction Tutor - Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to approve Allene Brady as a homebound Instruction Tutor for the school year. 4. Fieldwork Placement/Student Teaching - Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the committee moves to ratify the fieldwork placement of Andrew DiPasquale, Stockton University Student, from Kelly Montgomery to Allene Brady. 5. ESEA FY19- Title I - The committee moves to amend (from the August 28, 2018 board meeting) the staff approved to be paid from the ESSA FY19 Title I Grant, as follows: Sandra Stanton 50% Marsh School Rose Guerrera 50% Marsh School Amanda Witmer 100% Attales School Parent Transportation Contract - The committee moves to ratify the transportation contract for route PT-1 in the amount of $25/per day attended plus $ 495, for the 2018/2019 school year to transport student to the YALE Cedar Creek School in Egg Harbor City, not to exceed $4, HVAC Service Bid Award - The committee moves to participate in the Hunterdon ESC Cooperative bid for HVAC Services to Peterson Service Co, SER-11A at $78 / hour for service, 18% parts mark-up. 4. BOARD SECRETARY MONTHLY CERTIFICATION - The committee moves, that after review and pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6: (e), the Absecon Board of Education certifies that as August 31, 2018, after review of the Secretary s and Treasurer s Monthly Financial Reports (Revenue and Appropriation Sections), and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials that, to the best of our knowledge, no Major account or fund has been expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23A (b), and there have been no changes in anticipated revenue sources and/or amounts so that sufficient funds are available to meet the district s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. 4. TRANSFERS - The committee moves to ratify August transfers. 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS P. NEXT MEETING DATE - October 23, 2018 Q. EXECUTIVE SESSION - Motion to adopt the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED by the Absecon Board of Education that, pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-1 et seq.) it shall enter into Executive Session to discuss personnel, negotiations, potential litigation and other matters of attorney client privilege. The information discussed can be disclosed to the public only upon formal written request to the board secretary at the next work, special or regular meeting to determine if the time and circumstances would be appropriate to disclose the information discussed. At the conclusion of this session the Board of Education will reconvene the regular portion of the meeting and action may, or may not, be taken. R. ADJOURNMENT 8
